“The Afghan baby girl born on a C-17 military aircraft during an evacuation flight from Afghanistan will forever carry that experience with her.
The head of US European Command on Wednesday said that officials had spoken to the mother and father of the child, who is the only one actually born on an evacuation flight.
General Tod Wolters said the parents decided to name her Reach because the transport aircraft’s call sign was Reach 828.
She was born Saturday, and members of the 86th Medical Group helped in her birth as the plane flew from Kabul to Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
European Command said the mother went into labour during the flight and began experiencing complications due to low blood pressure.
The pilot descended in altitude to increase air pressure in the aircraft, which helped stabilise the mother.
Military medical personnel delivered the baby in the plane’s cargo bay.
General Wolters said the baby and family were all in good condition.”

God only knows how it will be interpreted 35 years from now but...
According to the Department of State’s foreign affairs manual, “a US-registered aircraft outside US airspace is not considered to be part of US territory. A child born on such an aircraft outside US airspace does not acquire US citizenship by reason of the place of birth.”
I’ll keep that in mind.....if I still have a mind by then.

Thanks for the invite lol. I’m not on the computer much these last few days as my desk is now semi-packed up, house nearly empty, just busy getting everything done. We’ll be out of here either Friday or Saturday, and I’ll be AWOL for awhile (unless I manage some computer time at my daughter’s house).
Mobile home people came through - house leaving Indiana shortly and due to arrive at the border Monday....they may even get it delivered to the farm Monday as well. Then all the hooking up begins, and then the unpacking starts!
It’s been quite the experience getting permits, etc. In total, the permits to get permission to put a mobile home on your own property cost just over $7,000.00 in this county. Unbelievable. The expenses have been greater than I expected, which I really should have expected lol.
In any case, sign me up for the VNF....I’m in!
