All the regime (both parties, elite ruling class) has to do is say, “X is true because of reasons, A, B, and C,” and then get people, “experts,” to go on the MSM and repeat the statement and reasons in their own words, over and over.

It doesn’t have to be logical, it doesn’t have to be supported by facts, it doesn’t even need to be consistent with what they were saying last week.

It works. Many people will believe it. And even if it’s only a few who believe it, the argument has the appearance of truth, and the official codified stamp of truth, which is much more important than public opinion anyway.

It is a FACT that police departments in numerous blue cities saw deep budget cuts. It is a FACT that prominent congressional Democrats supported that effort and encouraged more of it. It is a FACT that "defund the police" - even "abolish the police" - was and is a constant refrain at leftist demonstrations for more than a year.

If Republicans voted against a massive pork-filled bill with some police funding buried in it, that is irrelevant to what the Dems actually did in their own cities. People in Florida and Texas shouldn't have to pay for police departments in New York and Seattle when local politicians in those cities won't even fund them.
