The reason why defunding the police took hold in Democrat-run cities is they wanted to spend the money on hookers and blow. Then uncle Joe, you and me would have to bail them out.

Policing/Police Protection is a local issue—The fedguv has no role whatsoever in it.
The FBI needs to be abolished.
There was nothing in the bill that even mentioned police.
You can color your hair, dress to the max, lose weight, get plastic surgery, and many more things you can change.
But you can’t fix stupid.

It will probably work in this case. The mainstream media will tell the sheep that the bill contained more funding for the police, but the GOP refuses to support it. No details will be given.
Most of the sheep will buy that.
Side story: I have a friend who is an old-school Democrat. She worked hard all her life. Nothing radical about her. And she takes everything NBC News says as if it came right out of the Bible.
I’m sure she’ll bring this up next time we talk. “Did you hear that the Republicans are trying to defund the police?”
Will I try to convince her otherwise? I might try, gently. But it will do no good.
The “defunding of the police” was a local decision, not one made by Republicans in Washington.
Had the decision been made to distribute additional largesse to the impacted communities, the supplemental money would NOT have been used to restore funding to the support of law enforcement, but would have been given to already bloated and highly ineffective schemes to continue pandering for votes by the local political machines.
Specious reasoning by minds devoid of any critical thinking.
The MSM will take up its marching orders.
