It’s July 2021, in what used to be Australia.

My business has been forcibly closed. Everyone has been sent home without pay. We are banned from leaving our homes except for the 5 reasons given by the Government. We can go outside, but only within a 2.5km (1.5m) from our homes.

If we do not wear a mask when outside the home, we can be fined or arrested. The Government can force us submit to a covid test, if you refuse, you can be arrested. The Government is currently rounding up healthy people and forcing them into state run quarantine hotels.

We are banned from seeing our family and friends. Multiple local police stations have been closed so that resources can be diverted into “covid compliance”. Elective surgery has been cancelled again. The schools have been closed again.

People who have been ordered to be tested by the Government face more than a 12 hour wait. It is the middle of winter and very cold. People have been forced to relieve themselves in parks. People are sleeping in their cars.

The CHO makes jokes about this to the press

There is one person in hospital with covid-19 in the entire state.

There are fourteen cases of covid.
