Sorry, I just can’t listen. I’d rather remember him in his upbeat prime.

I first stumbled upon Rush's show while vacationing in Florida in January 1989. After 30 minutes of listening to him I was hooked. His Middle America common sense was always incredibly refreshing and inspiring.

Just reading this thread has me in tears. I miss him so much.

I’m so sad.
Rush really came to mean a lot to me.
A good Missouri man, the pride of our State.
They laid him to rest in the same cemetery where my grandparents rest. I am very pleased with that .

Listened to a show a few days later and heard Rush talking about something current and thought he was still alive. then the news came on saying he was dead.
Broke my heart. Loved that man.

The Rush Limbaugh Show was an important part of my life for 33 years. Rush and his show have now been claimed by the pages of history.
To: conservative98
I first heard Rush in 1988 or possibly early 1989. The Rush theme song was playing with Rush starting to talk over it. I had read about this guy named Rush Limbaugh before. The theme music alone told me this must be his show. Kind of hard to explain but the theme music fit the image I had formed in my head about the guy even before I heard him talk.

Rush Limbaugh was like Apple Pie, John Wayne and “Old Yeller”: there’s just something wrong with folks that didn’t like ‘em, and y’ought not trust anybody like that.

I still cannot believe Rush is gone. The patriot and great American shaped who I am as a Conservative American. I learned so much from the man and let’s not forget his father was also a great American patriot.

I’m relieved that they are finally moving on. I enjoyed Rush for years, but this continuing nonsense borders on idol worship....

That was a good, fitting call to end the show. It’s going to be weird listening Monday, no matter how good these new guys are.
