R.I.P.
Raindrops was probably the first radio song I knew all the words to (I was in second grade).

A great Christian man who overcame addiction many years ago. He said goodbye through his publicist recently. A wonderful man to celebrate. And if you get a chance cruise over to Youtube and listen to “Home Where I belong.”

Our rodeo club at Tech (Texas Tech y'all) hired Thomas about '79 for our annual rodeo.
Afterwards, he joined us at Cold Water.
He was a very nice and humble preson.

I’ll always remember him for “Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song.” That song always makes me think of my youth bowling league because it was constantly playing on the jukebox.

My wife and I saw BJ in person several years ago at Sun City Shadow Hills (Indio, Ca.). He put on an amazing show and his voice was pure gold. It was an incredible evening and he shared some great stories from “yester-year”.
RIP to a good person and a great entertainer.

We sat with BJ years ago in a Dallas studio reviewing his first Gospel Album and discussing his conversion. He was humble, engaging and totally sincere in his faith. He was “walk-in’ on a cloud.” He wanted to know all he could about God and Israel. Tonight he is “Home where I belong.” May his memory be a blessing. It is for me.

His first hit, a cover of Hank Williams “I’m So Lonesome I could Cry” was a very popular song when I was in high school in 1965. It was often played on the radio sandwiched between Beatles and Rolling Stones songs.

RIP ... I still remember fondly when he sang the Star Spangled Banner during the Stars Stanley Cup finals in 1999. What a voice!

Very sad. Love all of his big hits. One that was not as big, but still great: “No Love at All.”
