I wish they would think these through. Tennessee concealed carry can now be obtained with an online course only.
That’ll mess up the reciprocity agreement with the majority of other states. Before Tennessee made the change, getting a concealed carry permit meant you could also carry in 38 other states! (https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/resources/ccw_reciprocity_map/)
Of course someone could still take the in-person classes, but the reciprocity won’t be automatic any more for all those states. And most people won’t do it. This really limits the right to carry freedom.
I could be wrong (probably am!) but I think we’ve had the online course available for a while now? I know I was warned NOT to take it if I wanted my enhanced permit!
When we first got here, we had to take an in-person class. Then that permit could be used to apply for the multi-state licenses. Nothing else needed.
I haven’t actually read that there would be a problem getting the multi-state permits, but if a state requires their people to take an in-person class I kind of doubt they would take an online class or no class at all from another state.
My understanding of reciprocity is that if I’m a visitor to another state (or traveling through) then that state honors my carry permit but I would still have to abide by their carry laws.
I know non-resident CCP are available from other states, but I’m not really seeing the point of them for a reciprocal state if I’m just visiting.
I'm always suspicious that the hidden purpose of this sort of "no prison" plea deal on serious cases is a way of protecting the real conspirators and high level criminals at the top.
Is a deal like this a way of implementing "No Double Jeopardy" protection for the low level criminals to keep them from spilling the beans on the real evil doers behind the crime?
After all - these guys didn't decide independently and on their own to conveniently look the other way at the same time that Epstein was "offed".
TURKEY QUESTION:
Just observed a turkey laying her eggs under the fir tree in our front yard.
Would spraying Tomcat Pest Repellent around the parameter of the tree keep the raccoons away from the nest? Does it repel birds?

Level 1:
Today was a very special day for me. I was honored to receive an honorary doctorate from Concordia Theological Seminary!
I never thought of using an animal repellent. When we had a turkey lay her eyes in our pasture, we put up flags so the guy baling the hay would go around her. Unfortunately since that small area was the only one not mowed, the coyotes found the nest.
Let me know if you figure out if the repellent works. I’d worry it might repel the turkey too!
It seems to be working on our raised beds. I sprayed around the nest area. (I can see eggs under a layer of mud) and around the perimeter of the bird feeders. I’ll report back if I hear any raccoons growling tonight. They grunt and growl.

I never heard racoons making noise. I used to feed them on our back deck in the mountains. The mama started bringing her babies there, every winter. She would leave them on the deck to go forage. Cutest things ever. I was so honored she trusted me to babysit. She and her babies would look through our sliding glass door and bounce their hands up and down. I never heard any noise but I never had the door open when they were around either. I still don’t know what that means but that probably means feed me.
