Buried in the nearly 18,000-word White House Fact Sheet on President Joe Biden’s proposed $2.3 trillion “American Jobs Plan” infrastructure bill is one paragraph that could turn the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) into a zoning commission for suburban America.
“For decades, exclusionary zoning laws—like minimum lot sizes, mandatory parking requirements, and prohibitions on multifamily housing—have inflated housing and construction costs and locked families out of areas with more opportunities,” the fact sheet claims.
Fixed it.
Let the lawsuits begin.
Moving the criminal ghetto types to the suburbs. Got it.
I can’t stand white leftists elites.
If anyone is thinking that this is China Biden’s idea and that this is not part of Obama’s playbook, I have a bridge for sale....an old one but connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Bite it suburban Moms!
Too bad the Supreme Court has nullified the Tenth Amendment.
Hey Mitch McConnell, Ben Sasse, Mitt Romney, are you happy now?
I have worked and sacrificed much to restore my house as an investment. If they section 8 my neighborhood, that will be an unacceptable loss
But but but..Trump is a threat to Democracy !
If you think this isn’t real come here to NJ. Most bigger towns are complete third world sh*t holes and the decent towns now have Luxury homes built on once magnificent farm land and to get the permit to build depends upon letting low income housing be built alongside. This can only obviously turn into a ferocious problem.
The continuation of the Kenyanesian Usurpation.
Um, limitation of Federal powers (10th Amendment) doesn’t give the Federal government any power to do that.
Does anyone care?
Appeal to the SCOTUS.
Author and investigative reporter Stanley Kurtz should be asked about this when interviewed about socialist plans for the suburbs. For at that time when Obama was doing this Kurtz tried to expose those radical left study programs over a program held by WGN radio’s Extension 720 hosted by Milton Rosenberg but was threatened by protesters who prevented a cohearent presentation.
When Obama was an Illinois Senator he and Bill (step on the American flag) Ayers had gained total control of the distribution of funds from the Annenberg foundation which they passed its millions on to lefty fronts offering courses to Illinois and Chicago schools pushing the what soon would be the BLM agenda.
Fortunately, the creeps in DC have no authority over minimum lot sizes, mandatory parking requirements, and prohibitions on multifamily housing.
to all those wimpy suburban soccer moms that voted for this vile, fraudulent POS, enjoy your new neighbors.... Enjoy the suck.
But hey, at least the orange man is tweeting mean tweets to people.
But even if they can't do it directly, they can decide where the couple trillion dollars of "infrastructure" goes to. Drag a hundred million dollars through a city and the city council will eagerly destroy their home town for a chance to grab it.
Just like the federal government has no power over drinking ages, speed limits or seat belt laws, but states get cut out of highway funds if they don't dance to the federales' tune.
Yep. Those darn suburban soccer moms. There were so many on the voting line Election Day. I knew they were there to vote for anyone but Trump.

As a former Chicago resident (1970-1971) I know the value of minimum parking requirements. I lived in a “4 + 1” apartment building where the lowest level was for residents’ parking and the top 4 floors were for residences. The city required this design and it worked really well because we residents could safely park our cars off the street and the streets weren’t clogged with parked cars. If you wanted a private parking place, you paid for it. Given the limited parking space on the near north side, the system worked really well.
