President Joe Biden on Friday will order the creation of a commission to study possible reforms to the Supreme Court, including whether to expand the number of justices, which is a key goal of leftist members of the Democratic Party, or setting term limits for justices.
You don't ever want to have a constitutional convention. It would be a trap.
Presidents usually create Commissions so they can send stupid ideas to them to quietly die. I hope this turns out the same.
Not a problem...otherwise everyone here would have told the people in Georgia to VOTE (as Trump did), rather than listen to Lin Wood’s ‘boycott’ to make it so easy for the Dems to win that they wouldn’t even needed to cheat (you know, to ‘teach the GOP a lesson). So what’s the issue if the courts get packed? Seems like the OBVIOUS outcome when we decided to cede the Senate to the Democrats.
Joe is playing with fire.
There is so much to worry about with this unlawful administration that I can not give a damn
I think rather than doubling the supreme court we should create a second supreme court only for blacks
In the current atmosphere, I agree with you completely.
There is a FReepathon going on!

The idea that SCOTUS is appointed for life is not in the Constitution. There is no mention of term limits. It’s more of a tradition than a law.
A President can appoint replacements for any sitting SCUTUS Judge at any time.
They just haven’t and probably won’t, Well, the GOP wouldn’t but the DNC is not opposed to using any tactic. They fight to win.
The GOP just doesn’t fight...ever
The Supreme Court of the United States in 2020-2021 refused to uphold the laws and allowed massive election fraud to install an illegitimate president? So how much worse would a stacked Supreme Court of 2022 be? They would still not uphold the laws as written like they do now?
Don’t wait up all night for a response.

I think the constitution says that federal judges serve “during times of good behavior”, or some such language. And that has been interpreted to mean that their appointments are lifetime appointments.
Anyone know more about this? I agree there’s no specific language that the appointments to the judiciary are for life, but that’s been the understanding of that language about “good behavior” throughout our history.
Tyrants gotta tyranize.
I believe there's plenty of dialogue stipulating that they are indeed life time appointments.
Do you think Georgia voters are so stupid as to need you to tell them to vote?
When I cast my run off ballot I asked the poll worker “Is this where I put my ballot to pretend my vote is counted?”
Sorry, while I certainly get your anger (obviously it’s not just Georgia that got screwed), and I appreciate your voting there.
But Lin Wood CROSSED THE LINE with me by calling on people to NOT VOTE in the runoffs, and that was despite Trump saying the opposite (had Trump also called for a boycott, then a boycott may well have made sense, and either way, I wouldn’t be going after Lin Wood).
But then people here, including at least one from Georgia, not only supported Lin Wood’s call to not vote, they also stated that they wouldn’t vote. I’m referring to those 500,000 people (again, at least some here)...they have NOTHING to complain about - they got exactly what they ‘voted’ for, and I made DAMN SURE that they knew what was coming if they were successful in throwing the election - well before the election. They simply DID NOT CARE...oh, but now they’re upset. LOL!
