Former Jets cornerback Phillip Adams shot and killed five people including a beloved emergency room doctor, his wife and their two grandchildren before turning the gun on himself in South Carolina Thursday, in a horrific spree that his dad blames on his years in the NFL.
“I think the football messed him up,” Adams’ father, Alonso Adams, told Charlotte television station WCNC.
The ex-player killed Dr. Robert Lesslie, 70; his wife, Barbara Lesslie, 69, and 9-year-old Adah and 5-year-old Noah Wednesday evening at a home near his parents in Rock Hill, according to police.

I’m waiting for a female cheerleader who’s had several concussions to shoot a family before I accept the ‘concussion’ excuse. Sometimes people are just ‘bat shite’ crazy. With or without concussions.

But, seriously, since the shooter did the trouble of killing himself, his brain ought to be studied for CTE just to see if he might have had a brain injury.
I’m not so sure I’d want to blame football as the main influence here. Once I read that the victims all seemed to be from one family, it makes me think the doctor was his scapegoat for a failed career. Maybe the doc performed a procedure on Adams that didn’t turn out like it should have and Adams blames this on his failure to stick in the NFL so he decides to kill off not just the doctor but his whole family.
Really sad that children had to die.
Yeah, this will be a one-day story in the media. Shooter is the wrong race for the media’s kneejerk stereotyping. Probably voted for Biden too.

Dr. Robert Lesslie, 70, and his wife, Barbara, 69, were pronounced dead at the scene Wednesday along with grandchildren Adah Lesslie, 9, and Noah Lesslie, 5, the York County coroner’s office said.
A man who had been working at the Lesslie home, James Lewis, 38, from Gaston, was found shot to death outside, and a sixth person, who was not identified, was hospitalized with “serious gunshot wounds,” authorities said.
Tolson said evidence left at the scene of the shooting led them to Adams as a suspect. He said they went to Adams’ parents’ home, evacuated them and then tried to talk Adams out of the house. Eventually, they found him dead of a single gunshot wound to the head in a bedroom, he said.
Very well it appears. Another blow struck against racism. This guy gets 5. The next guy gets 5 or sis. The White population and racism is being reduced one at a time or in this case 5 at a time.
No. He was already screwed up. Football did not have anything to do with it. Democrat politics may have. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton’s philosophy could have had something to do with it. But football did not.
Somebody or something has to be blamed. It can’t be his fault. It could have been the man in the moon. Or a man from Mars. Perhaps the gun. The possibilities are endless. But as everyone knows, it is not the individual’s fault.
I read somewhere that Dr Lesslie was denying him some more prescribed drugs or something like that. Something inside snapped in this murderous animal and out of control anger evil spirit took over. All this constant media barrage about white racism/ privilege lies just adds fuel to the fires of the low IQ’s.

I read that (according to a coach) he had a long history of being a difficult patient and ignoring medical advice on dealing with his football injuries, the last one of which (some 6 years ago) was a broken ankle. I don’t think he’d been playing for a while, and sometime before Covid, he’d opened a smoothie shop in town. However, it closed and went out of business during the shutdown.
He seems to have gotten addicted to prescription pain killers and the doctor was trying to wean him off them.
His parents were neighbors of the doctor and family.
