(Ithaca, NY) –WHCU Radio in Ithaca, NY will start airing the Dennis Prager Show weekdays Noon- 3pm starting today.
“We polled our listeners on a Rush Limbaugh replacement show over the past month, and Prager was their top choice. While they know that Rush’s show was great, they also understand that radio is best as a live, topical medium and that running repeats of Rush segments was not what they ultimately wanted to listen to” said Joe Salzone, News Director.
The Dennis Prager radio show has been nationally syndicated since 1999. Prager’s show is currently heard on over 300 radio stations and has been increasing steadily since the death of Rush Limbaugh on February 17th. In addition to the radio show, Prager founded Prager University, an American non-profit organization that creates videos on various political, economic, and philosophical topics from a conservative perspective. These videos have been extremely popular on college campuses and in university discussions with over 2 billion views.
“Dennis will be a good fit for WHCU. He is intelligent, educated, and will bring those assets to the regional airwaves,” Said operations Manager Chris Allinger. “Replacing a legend like Rush is not easy, but Dennis has been successfully doing his nationally syndicated weekday show in the exact same time period for over 20 years, so his track record is already proven.”

I like Prager.
our local radio stations stopped airing Prager several months ago....would love to have him back....
there is no replacing Rush...Rush was Rush..
You are lucky...I can not find out who we are supposed to getting in Rush's slot in Phoenix AZ.
I like Bongino and have been listening to him for years. I don’t see his dialogue as rants as much as energetic.
I respect Mark Levin, but I haven’t been able to listen to him for a while. I am working to keep control of my temper and my blood pressure, but Levin gets angry, and I feel my emotions trying to keep pace, which isn’t a good thing.
Dennis examines the book of Exodus verse by verse, using his knowledge of the Hebrew language to provide context. For example, he explains that the Israelites had no words for the term "to be". So when God revealed himself to Moses, the words described can either be translated as
Mr. Prager also provides short essays along the way. An example is one about Collective Guilt, discussing why the Egyptian people suffering because of their Pharaoh's intractability wasn't unjust .
I've gained quite a bit of knowledge already and I'm just starting Chapter 9.
Again, I highly recommend it.
(I'll also listen to his radio show, if it ever gets to my area.)
I can’t remember ever hearing Prager, but based on what I have heard, I cast my vote for Michael Berry as a follow-on (NOT replacement) to the King of AM radio.
Patience grasshopper, Rush's replacement will appear soon........
I like him also but unfortunately he was in the same time slot as Rush here in S.E Michigan......
I'll still go with the Rush replacement rather than Prager for the same reason you mentioned......
I like Dennis Prager, but I think Kurt Schlicter would be an ideal replacement for Rush. He’s funny, smart, witty, and VERY conservative. Mark Steyn is also a good candidate.
Hugh Hewitt puts out an excellent, top notch product 3 hrs a day. Not boring, one problem though, he calls himself a Romney Republican and throws feminine hissy fits at times relating to that. On the whole very good, very informative.
He does have a penchant for talking over people, I could take or leave his Male/Female hour, but other than that, there is no one close in the macro-arena. You can get a micro-view recap of every big story with soundbites from the previous hour and maybe a special guest CONgressional rep, from the bigger hosts, but in the important issues that matter, there is no one better. and he handles the important political events in real time, as well.
