My sister swears the above gave us Celiacs. We were latch key kids.
But she told me this story. She’s the one who works for a pediatrician. Oh the stories! So this kid’s mom called. Her son’s mouth and throat had been burned. He ate an expired Twinky.. almost expired him!
They call the Twinky Hotline (I have no idea if there is one, they called someone) and the gal said.. “Oh yeah, there’s a reason for the expiration date.” The kid had serious burns in his mouth and esophagus and was hospitalized.

I can attest to that - you are truly blessed. For as a caretaker it is is a horrible, horrible, truly horrible - long drawn-out experience.
After many, many nights staying up comforting my wife of 62 years, she hollered at me "For God's sake - Help me!" and I couldn't because with dementia comes the loss of apatite and she literally starved herself to death.
She passed away two years ago - leaving me with the most depressing feeling that I failed the one that I treasure the most. Oh God - How that hurts.

My response to that question is “That’s personal. Do you ask people if they get the pneumonia or flu shot every year? No, so why are you asking me this?”
I’m thinking and I may get more blunt because it is NO ONE’s business what your health is. We HAVE to remember we are protected by HIPAA.
I’m curious why people are even asking. It’s propaganda and pressure.
Practice being assertive or practice a disgusted face lol. Like the face that says, “Don’t cross me.” I’m serious. I think it’s rude to ask.
Maybe.. “Did you just ask me that?” “Why and tell me what business is it of yours?”
I wouldn’t allow anyone to pressure me.
