As promised I am writing a follow up report after receiving the 2nd shot of covid-19 vaccine.
76-year old woman here. Had both Moderna shots, Shot #2 was 2 1/2 weeks ago. No side effects other than slight tenderness at injection site.
Had my second Moderna shot two weeks ago. First shot was a non-event … second shot, following day I experienced some of the reactions you describe. Down the road, perhaps in the fall, I suspect that follow up booster shots will be recommended to deal with Covid-19 variants.
“The chip you get injected with the second shot is awesome.
I can bluetooth my blood pressure to my smartphone.
Somebody at the NSA is reading my pulse rate via 5G as I type this.”
Amazing. After my wife got the second shot she was SURE that the SmartMeter was talking to her. Thing is...maybe it was.
Isn’t ‘technology’ wonderful!?...
Just keep a few tablets of Tylenol on hand for the 2nd shot.
Chances are you could experience more symptoms after 2nd shot. Good news is the symptoms will fade away in a couple of days.
I got it only because I think it’s going to be required for travel, and I (used to) travel a lot. And also because I run a volunteer organization where people will literally not come into the room for our meetings unless they know everybody has been vaccinated. Totally crazy, but that’s because they watch too much Fauci and think “WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE”!
I have the first shot, which is fine...the second shot provides only a fraction more immunity (from a “disease” with a low mortality rate and is only a politically motivated panic in the first place).
However, the airlines will require two of the Pfizer shots, and from what I’ve read, it’s better if you wait a little longer for the booster. When kids have boosters for their routine vaccinations, they’re given after a much longer period than 3 weeks (the “minimum” for the Covid vax).
Since I refuse to wear a mask and am not interested in flying as long as they keep up this stupidity, I’m going to wait on the second vax.
BTW, the J&J requires only one shot, but it is the one most heavily dependent on cells from aborted babies.
I have had both doses of Moderna. My experience is the same as the one described in this post (although I cannot say for sure the poster got Moderna but ai suspect they did.)
I don’t buy home insurance and my house is still standing.
Vaccine is like insurance. It is a measure to prevent catastrophic situation.
You forgot to tell how useful the third arm is. There is a bit of a learning curve though after only having two tor the first 60 years
It’s really handy for working on cars...forgot to mention that!
Yes it was Moderna vaccine.
1/2 CC each time, identical shots.
After taking zero rounds of vaccines but tossing back my daily dose of zinc and D3 I feel like a million bucks. 😉
I haven’t even got the shot yet and already my teeth and hair on my head is falling out, my joints ache, my eyes have floaters In them, tinnitus, sore back, feet hurt, and Brian fog has set in..
J/k. I have none of the above except brain fog and teeth issues lol.
Well let’s hope these vaccines have no long term issues with them. Such a crappy position to be In for the elderly and sick to have to choose this, or for anyone for that matter. Don’t know whether getting the covid intentionally, or just as a natural % issue, and building resistance naturally, or betting vaccine, or using horse paste plus zinc is the right decision. In the end just gotta make a decision and stick to it whatever the consequences may be and not second guess the decision.
Humor is good for the soul. Thanks!
Had my second Pfizer on Tuesday afternoon. Woke up at 4am with massive chills, sweating, dizziness and pronounced fever. Was not able to get out of bed Wednesday without my husband holding me up. Slept most of the day, actually. couldn’t stay awake, no appetite. Thursday a little better, did a few house things but fatigued by noon, slept most of the afternoon. Friday, felt decent but this morning I woke up with racing heart and sweating, now just tired. So it has been four days and still have some issues, I have read side effects only last for 1-2 days, so if not better by Monday will go to doctor.
BTW: Go Indiana!
I looked up the term ageless in the dictionary and found a picture of you staring back at me.
Somebody drew a Groucho Marx face on top of your smiling face.
Dammit! Some freeper had already beaten me to the punch.
Keep on keeping on whippersnapper.
I’ve been looking forward to your 2nd shot report!
Thanks!
Mine is Tuesday......Moderna
My husband, his two sisters and some neighbors had their 2nd......no problems!
I am frustrated that those of us that travel can’t take a two stage vaccine by normal avenues. In 20 days I leave for a different part of the country. I will be there about 35 days (not enough time to get a two stage set up for non-resident) and then I return home for 60 days. This crap where it is all handled by government is screwed up.
I should be able to go to a physician and be administered a Moderna Stage 2 on request is stupid.
