UN is transporting 25,000 asylum seekers to US from Mexico
Agencies at the United Nations have launched efforts this week to transport 25,000 asylum seekers back to the United States after being made to stay in Mexico under the Trump administration’s Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP).
According to a press release from the UN Refugee Agency on Wednesday, the tens of thousands of asylum seekers have active immigration cases in the U.S., but were returned to wait in Mexico under the MPP program. The UN agencies’ action comes after the U.S. and Mexican governments requested UN assistance with migrant re-entry.
The Refugee Agency began in-person registration of nearly 750 people from the camp in Matamoros on Wednesday, and the first group was expected to be approved to enter the U.S. by the end of the week.

I just finished 1984, Animal Farm ,Brave New World and the Screwtape letters. There in the Screwtape letters is an additional section called Screwtape preposes a Toast. This section written in 1960 was incorporated in the book with a foward by C.S. Lewis. He shows us the root causes of the abomination of today. He lays it all out 60 years ago. He holds up a mirror that reflects what is happening today. While its not Orwell, its still none the less chilling.
I highly recommend it.

You make a great point here about service as opposed to career. Especially in terms of paid civic positions which does include education.
In general we raise our children attempting to help them achieve successful career opportunities as adults. I would guess that Christian conservatives comprise the bulk of those adding teaching that our children serve the community or mankind. At present we have all volunteer military which shows that a good number of young people do grasp the concept of service in their profession.
There are many other occupations with a service focus although many are filled with leftist-focused heathens pushing gubmint subsidies instead of true helpful service. We also have a vast array of "service industries" manned by people who understand that serving others can be a rewarding career and life.
But how much better would our society work if we schooled our kiddos in "how will you serve when you grow up?" Instead of, "what are you going to be when you grow up?" We have had a president since 2017 who truly took the job to serve. How better would our govt, schools, banks, medical facilities etc work if each employee were conditioned from childhood to understand that their place of employment is their service to the community. That would be Biblical.
