Oh no!
Come to East Tennessee if you are close enough
They are odd critters. I had one in my washroom and it was hiding beside my freezer. Scared me to death! I just left the door open all night and it finally left on it’s own.
I live in town here but over the years learn to close all my doors! ;)
Prayers for MagUSNRET to keep safe!
You got it, Spunky.
We are in a home that is a raised ranch. It has a large living area on each floor. The lower level is a large 3 bedroom unit, with large eat-in kitchen, very large living room, gas fireplace, double vanity bathroom and lots of closets. Also a utility room on that floor - laundry tub, room for washer/dryer and storage.
The upper floor has a good-size living room with nice gas fireplace (designed to look like an old English coal fireplace), large eat-in kitchen, smaller bedroom I use for an office/computer room, large master bedroom, nice sitting room across the back with gas fireplace and French doors going onto the upper level deck. Deck has a nice cedar roof with large ceiling fan, and fountain.
This home is going up for sale end of this month. My son and daughter came over today and did a good job cleaning in the garage. Dumpster is half full.
We have leased a property (about 3/4 acre) on Lake Erie for 25 years, fixing up a 100 year old cottage and keeping it maintained. It’s been the chance of a lifetime, and actually an answer to prayer. We were told by the realtor hired by the Stelco pension people that they were going to work with the tenants to give them every opportunity to buy the land. We were told we were going to have “first crack” at the properties. We met last August and the realtor said to put in a reasonable offer, and deduct from it the cost involved in clearing the land, that is, tear down cost for the cottage, tear down cost for a large old garage, and building a break wall to preserve the bank from erosion. We did this. Then we never heard back, regardless of the number of times I emailed/phoned.
Well, I FINALLY got a call last week. Completely different story now.....they have to put everything out to market. So, no offers to the tenants first.....everything gets listed and goes up for bid. IF one of the tenants is tied for highest bidder, then we get first consideration. Pretty different story from what we were first told. I was so sad, but then I got mad. If this property goes on MLS, there’s so much money in this area, and so very few parcels of land this size, with 100 feet of waterfront......once the bidders get going, it’ll go for a million bucks, easily.
So, I’ve ordered a new mobile home, we’re going to park it on my daughter’s and son-in-law’s farm, bank the money and have it in case the kids need some help down the road. Maybe this is what was meant to be, what with the crazy things going on in the world. We need everyone solvent, no debt, and having much less pressure. There’s enough to worry about these days.
Sounds like a solid plan, Judy.
Two videos from the DC ‘man about town’ today, basically the same subject matter. I think one was an accident. LOL
On this first one, which is the usual edited version, we have a bike ride down to the White House, then over to the new World War One Memorial in DC that was dedicated a couple days ago (apparently the jet flyover scared the bejebers out of the Press Secretary hehehe) for a short tour. He then goes over to the World War Two Memorial for a short tour and then to the DC World War One Memorial (dedicated to the DC residents). Then back home with a small detour through the Georgetown flea market. He ends up back at the National Cathedral and the bells are playing. This is a 23 minute video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tLVVoyFTZo
The second video is also the World War One Memorial. When he arrived at the White House he apparently started livestreaming to YouTube by accident. LOL So there’s the unedited video from the White House and walking to the World War One Memorial; he spends a lot more time at the Memorial and talking about it than in the edited video. This video is 17 1/2 minutes long. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvzKzHDexbI
How convenient that construction on the south lawn of the White House will require Biden to go by “The Beast” directly to the helicopter on the Ellipse instead of walking across the lawn. He will just not be able to interact with any reporters on his way nor will we clearly see him getting onto the helicopter.
👍
“I wonder why?”
🤔
Illinois?

We have friends who....ironically....did a very similar thing, several years ago.
They’d purchased their land, and the mft home to put on the land....only to find out they could not put that home on their lot. (TX Hill Country area.)
Their son and his family were living on unrestricted acreage, not too far away....so....that’s where they put the mani home....and, have LOVED it, ever since, and are so happy that it is how everything turned out.
I wish the very same for you/your family, too!
That’s sad that they reneged on the cabin.
IL was my guess, too, Rusty.
I pray you can get the heck out of dodge, wherever it is, Mag.
Ha on your response, Thumbs up back at ya!
Why and When did polite conversation become a emoji in answer. Jeeze do people even talk anymore or is it selective to who they want to converse with. Regardless in my opinion it’s RUDE!
You say “we’re going to park it on my daughter’s and son-in-law’s farm,...”
Not exactly sure what you mean by park it. Do you mean it will just be sitting there until you find some place to put it permanently?
