DES MOINES, Iowa —
Gov. Kim Reynolds said Thursday during a radio interview that Iowa was asked to take in children who are being held at the U.S. border with Mexico.
The governor talked about the request during an interview with Jeff Angelo on WHO Radio.
Reynolds said the Department of Health and Human Services reached out to ask the state to house migrant children and she declined.
The governor said Iowa does not have the facilities and her priority is to protect the health and safety of Iowans.
According to The Associated Press, nearly 19,000 children traveling alone were stopped at the Mexican border last month.
Many migrants are fleeing poverty and violence in Central America.
Joe Henry, political director of LULAC Iowa, issued a statement in response to Reynolds’ interview that said, in part, “As you know, Iowa has always been a welcoming state for refugees, under Gov. (Robert) Ray with southeast Asians in the ‘70s and ‘80s, and even with Gov. (Terry) Brandstad, when 50,000 refugees were fleeing Central America every month during the summer of 2014.”
Henry explained that Iowa’s elected leaders are being asked if they are willing to provide refuge for, “only several hundred children and family members” and that other states are asked to do the same.
He went on to say, “Shame on the governor and those Iowa county sheriffs who are pandering to their hateful political base!!!”
So the illegal alien maids working at Best Western will be changing the sheets for the illegal aliens staying there?

Pence had in his hands three letters from 3 state legislatures (one was PA) asking he delay the final certification until the legislatures could complete their review. Pence said "no". Cruz asked the Senate separately for a two week pause for a complete review. We know where that went.
The only support Pence needed for a state challenge on the 6th was one senator and one representative. Pence had this for all six states in question ... but the "insurrection" shut down the whole process (under what right, is unknown).
The democrats stole the election, Pence, McConnell and McCarthy took turns driving the get away car.
I'll do everything legal I can to make sure Pence does not secure the nomination in 2024, and if he does, that he loses.
I cannot reward the behavior of this snake's backstabbing for four years and ending with him spitting in my face.
I pray he just goes the hell away.

I bought the Roomba both times.
I plugged it in to charge overnight, pushed the big button in the center and it started to work, when it gets tired it goes back to it’s station and recharges. I don’t program it when to clean, it’s just to simple to push the button.

Under the Constitution VP Pence HAD TO start the count of the ballots ON THAT DAY. They did shut down for a few hours but started back up that same day.
Like you said in order to challenge a state there HAD TO BE a signed challenge by a representative AND a senator for each state challenged. I watched the whole thing and I saw some representatives get up and verbally challenge but when asked if signed by both Legislatures the answer was always NO. So the votes had to go on.
Now if I am wrong and there were times when both a representative and senator challenged please give me the state/states and the names of the rep. and senator.
