Speaking of Go for Broke Day, I saw this article on Fox News (originally from reddit) about a bride & groom who decided on no children at their wedding (don’t know if they had any child attendants). The groom’s family voiced opposition because his 3 sisters have kids. Finally the groom’s side agreed to the no kids rule.
Day of the wedding, the 3 sisters show up with kids in tow! Groom said sorry, shouting match with mother & sisters ensues, the venue security is called, and mother, sisters, kids and one aunt leaves the wedding.
Turns out, the mother told the sisters to bring the kids and she would deal with the groom later. Now the groom’s family is trying to bully him into ‘fixing’ the issue by hosting a second wedding or a party that includes children. They’re even bullying the wife into talking him into it so the family relationship won’t be ‘damaged’.
Of course, I don’t know if this is a true story or just someone with a creative story (because everything posted on the internet is legit, amIright??) but what do y’all think? I say good for him for standing his ground and acting as the head of this new family.
Wow! The groom’s family, especially his mom, is a bully. No way should the couple pay for a second ceremony. I’d consider it only if the mom were paying. Even so, ....

Best possible thing for the newly weds is for them to move away from the family and all of the trauma that will continue. Sooner than later, one of the newly weds will have enough and wonder if staying is worth a lifetime of family interference. I would!
I agree - if Mom and the sisters want their own party, they can pay for it. In the meantime, one hopes the newlyweds can maintain a united front against these tyrant in-laws.

It will be interesting to see if anything else comes of this decision, or if it goes down the memory hole. Is this the one that was dismissed as being moot once Twitter banned DJT?
