Columbia professor: I do heroin regularly for ‘work-life balance’
Carl Hart is a Columbia University professor of psychology and neuroscience. He chairs the psych department and has a fondness for heroin – not only as a subject of scholarly pursuit but also as a substance for personal use.
At 54, the married father of three has snorted small amounts of heroin for as many as 10 days in a row and enjoyed it mightily – even if, as he recalls in his new book “Drug Use for Grown-ups: Chasing Liberty in the Land of Fear” (Penguin Press), he’s experienced mild withdrawal symptoms “12 to 16 hours after the last dose.”

It wouldn't alter his course, because like all liberals, he knows what's best.
Guess the school doesn’t have a zero tolerance policy for faculty heroin use.
Madness, a descent into darkness

For 12 to 16 hours? Pal, your body is trying to tell you something.
Read the article (a NeverGore first!) before I commented.....
He had a very disciplined approach to the amount, time of day, and length of use....very short-term usage as well.....
To extrapolate that data/use to widespread public usage is not just stupid, it’s dangerous.....
Evolution/devolution in Action, keep up the good work!
Most liberals In a couple of decades, if left alone to their chosen life styles, will have destroyed themselves and their DNA via their abortions, drug abuse, homo sexual life styles, sex changes, both DNA wise and soul wise due to their stupid and terminal life choices.
The Democratic Party has been rapidly morphing into the CCP/DCP/DonnerCrat Party on a daily basis.

To be fair, Columbia University is probably just using the flowchart that most organizations are using these days:
Do the person do something wrong or offensive?
If yes, go to A.
If no, go to B.
A. Is the person a liberal of a conservative?
If he’s a liberal, go to B.
If he’s a conservative, fire him.
B. Leave him alone.
This is the sort of man parents pay over $70,000/year to “educate” their gullible children. The only way Columbia would find a way to fire him if he were to say something complimentary of Trump. Otherwise he keeps his job and status within academia.
He does it because he’s an addict. He wants to change the way he feels
An rationalization will do
He’s trying to control what he can’t control. Typical addict justification
You can take the Dude out of the Ghetto but you can’t take the Ghetto out of the Dude.
That’s incredible. Did you also read that he enjoys taking Bath Salts? Remember those horrible stories of street people on Bath Salts committing extreme violence?
The Face Eater comes to mind.
Maybe he thinks he is the black Timothy Leary. Leary was a professor in the 1960’s who openly used and promoted LSD use.
Isn’t heroin an illegal drug? Who is he buying it from? If it is laced with something that makes it more lethal, he may get an unpleasant surprise one day like Michael Jackson, Prince, Philip Seymour Hoffman and members of the 27 Club.
Agreed..... widespread use would be a total disaster..... look at the heroin use in China in the late 1800s to early 1900s pushed on the Chinese by the British.....
Or even legal heroin use here in the USA in the 1800s....
Both cases showcase nations almost destroyed by such heavily addictive drugs...
Do us all a favor, Carl. OD
In the recent BBC series “Sherlock”, the re-telling of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic series in a modern setting, Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) was portrayed as a very brilliant heroin addict.
He actually was portrayed in one episode as using an overdose which almost killed him to come up with a solution for a crime.
In the books, Sir Doyle portrayed his Sherlock as an opium addict. In fact one of his stories, “The Seven Percent Solution”, was a reference to the 7% opium potency that Sherlock used.
Not an excuse for this nitwit in the article, just some trivia to go with it.
