Great move. My mom hits 90 this year, and I never talk politics around her. We talk about old times, game shows, and stuff like that. There's no reason to get someone that age into a bitter and angry mood.

A neighbor gave me the Sunday paper a while back and I about had a big, old panic attack over all the doom and gloom regarding covid and how rotten Orange Man Bad was.

Both my younger sisters are either in favor of or have no awareness of the political situation today.
One is a D who lives in Utah and she thought it was great that Biden shut down the Keystone pipeline because pipeline construction is “ugly” and the workers can get other jobs, and they can even “tele-commute” and not even have to move. She giggles a lot, but it’s not that cute when you’re 67.
My other younger sister (72) live in Arizona and refuses, absolutely refuses, to look for news outside what she is fed by the MSM. She says everything else is lies and becomes so agitated if you try to present another point of view, she don’t want to hear it and won’t discuss it.
It’s a total disconnected way of looking at the world. People losing their jobs and factories closing are not their concern; no one holds any ill-will towards the United States, we don’t need a big military, etc. etc.
Just hope they don’t turn me in, when and if, they have the opportunity. I’ve got several nephews and nieces who would to do that.
Speaking of nanny cars, new Subarus even monitor your head’s position and bitches at you if it thinks you’re texting or not watching the road properly.
Not sure if it’s an option or standard, but it really sucks.
***I’ve commented that if I ever have an accident, the insurance company might be able to call up my driving record from the car’s sensors and decide that I’m a bad driver and refuse to cover my loss.

Perhaps they are preparing to replace him with Kamala and want to emphasize to the public the considerations that would "drive" them to do that (i.e., make the public think Dementia Joe has his finger on the trigger and therefore must be removed). It also provides them with the optics to falsely portray Biden as having possession of the nuclear football.
