Well that is disconcerting. So my spouse’s vehicle probably has a black box, despite it being low tech. Ptuiiii. And the link to find a list of vehicles is dead in that article, so I can’t look up mine. :(

Had to have my car jump started yesterday and in talking to the guy learned that he is on camera all day long and will get his pay docked if he removes his mask while in the vehicle. Sad state of affairs.

Thank you for that information. I’ll try to drive my 2001 Miata more in the good weather and the 2021 Honda less, unless I get my 2009 Honda back. If they’re collecting this information, it’s only a matter of time until they start using it against us. Of course, under the Great Reset, they’ll find a way to take my cars from me completely and make me drive an electric car, or just throw me in covid concentration camp where I won’t have to drive at all.

I witnessed some change in my mother’s attitude as she got very old too (she’s since passed) - I still remember when I was a little kid, not even in school yet, and the phone rang. My mother answered it and then started crying. I asked her what was wrong and she said that the President was shot. That was JFK, and that was the kind of person my mother really was back then.
Fast forward to the 2000s and she kind of had taken on the opinions that the media had given her. She went upstairs with my brother every Sunday and watched 60 minutes, some lame TV shows, and would fall asleep by 9. But she really was no longer engaged in world events and I don’t think she had any desire to question things any more. Plus, the information she was hearing was filtered through the mockingbird media.
I think it’s just part of getting very old - you don’t engage in things with the youthful enthusiasm that you once had. You get tired. I am guessing that Momma T-Bear has taken on a similar mindset. Plus, my mother was never really much for the internet. She had some sort of computer where she would play solitaire and send emails, but that was about it.

I rent cars most of the year when on the road and I notice that all the smart cars have theater warning chatter features off. Seems nobody likes them.
Some cars the lane assist is sort of nice, it makes it feel like the line between lanes has a small mound to drift your car back in lane but it is inconsistent so I eventually turn it off again. It fails to see the line often.
The only feature I really like is radar regulated cruise control. Now that is the cats meow. Great for cross country. Try that if you have it before you trade. Turn all the rest off.
