Is time to be talking about a replacement for Rush?
Actually...a name just occurred to me.Call me crazy but...how about Dennis Miller?
I agree, as I said nobody can replace rush. Not truly. I found that he could put nuance to the stories that no other talk show host could see or think of. I caught Marc Steyn last night substituting for Tucker and his opening monologue was hilarious. He does bring the humor that rush so often brought to the show.
I think Donald Trump could do the job well. It would be his way of going around the others in the various media.
There’s a poll here that asks that very question, FWIW:

There is no replacement for Rush. Only off-shoots. Hopefully, they will bloom.
I heard Chris Plante say the other morning that the Rush Limbaugh show is over. And he was right. -that without Rush, there IS NO more Rush Limbaugh show.
There will be a HUGE empty void to fill each day between 12 and 3pm, 5 days a week.
Let’s hope we have some QUALITY people who can step up.
I love Dennis Miller, but sometimes his remarks take me too long to think through what he said and he’s already ahead of me until I realize what he just said. He can be very nuanced. Would make a great fill in host though.
I think it was deliberate.
Hey folks, why has no one mentioned Donald Trump?
Snerdley did his own show once a number of years back in the early days of the web.
As I recall.
I won’t make any choices yet... EIB won’t go away and there is someone out there that will replace Rush.
Who that is is yet to be found.
He might make a great fill-in host, at least for a while on a test basis. I’d love to hear him given three hours of time to host a show as a try out.
No idea for a replacement. Can’t think of anyone I would like to listen to for 3 hours straight, except my girlfriend.
She was watching me type.
Trump would be great for at least a show, plus i’d love to talk with him on an open line call.
What we need is someone who is glib, who is quick on their feet, can articulate the conservative position in simple, everyday ways, and is young enough to hold the spot for a few decades.I wonder of someone like Sarah Palin could give it a try?
What we don't need is a person with deep knowledge of one subject who will lecture us all day long. We need a conversationalist who can engage the callers in a dialog as they both discuss the news of the day from the conservative perspective.

I’d like Steyn but I don’t think he wants it as a daily gig.
But maybe as he gets to doing more show prep he’d discover so much more he can present.
Mark Steyn
Now President Donald Trump would be a perfect interim replacement for Rush, while a permanent replacement is searched for. In fact, have Trump do maybe three days a week and use the other two days to "try out" other hosts for the permanent slot.
Trump would definitely fill the three hours effortlessly and will hold the radio audience together, probably even expand upon it.
Interesting option. I'd prefer that she retire Lisa Murkowski but she might have more influence as Rush's replacement if she doesn't want to be a senator.
The problem with replacing the irreplaceable is that Rush was unorthodox and trusted his instincts against the advice of media specialists. Even good talk show hosts get tiresome when broadcast 15 hours per week. Rush didn't. I could see Sarah Palin settling into this position. When running with McWhat'shisname, Palin was the best when she wasn't following the advice of Nicole Wallace and those other swamp critters and she was just herself.
I really can’t stand Hannity, he is insufferable to listen to.
