Beto O'Rourke is back is the spotlight as Texas continues to face a statewide crisis.
Hundreds of thousands of Texans remain without power Thursday morning as millions more deal with burst pipes and other consequences of unprecedented winter weather. O'Rourke, the former 2020 Democratic presidential and 2018 Texas Senate candidate, has been making the TV rounds to call out the Republicans who've shifted the blame for the power shortages — and is organizing to check in on senior citizens throughout it all.
On Wednesday night, O'Rourke announced he and volunteers had made more than 150,000 wellness calls to seniors throughout the state. And in an interview with CNN, he called out Republicans, including Gov. Greg Abbott (R), who have inaccurately placed most of the blame for the power failures on Texas' renewable energy sources.

I get the optics... but here’s the reality: Cruz is a Senator, not a local or State official.
Cruz had the power to call Federal officials and get fed govt help agencies to move in and help Texans
Maybe he should do it.

Looks like Cruz stepped into it up to his eyeballs. He can’t do anything about the situation, and neither can Beto. All optics, all b.s. If Beto actually accomplishes anything that the state government has not already accomplished, then that is what needs to be worried about, for the state leaders.
The latest I heard was that Beto went out on his skateboard two nights ago and found a baby on the sidewalk. He gathered the child into his arms and took him door to door until he found a spare blanket. He left the child at the homeless shelter. Last night he found a whole liter of puppies and he was able to save them. Tonight I’m pretty sure he’s giving blood.
So yeah, Ted, we can all see how we should have elected Beto now.
How nice of Beto! Perhaps he can check to see if you are OK regarding the weather event, and while he is at you house, he can confiscate your AR rifle. Now that is what I call efficiency.

Newsflash: so do the local and State officials. A call from the Governor is far more effective in an emergency than a call from a Senator.
Ted Cruz is politically finished.
Cruz is a US Senator! It is not his responsibility to do a damn thing? If anyone should be faulted it would be that senile old fool who stole the election! It IS his responsibility to dispatch FEMA! Biden’s Katrina!
He is an elected leader for Christ sakes. He should be doing whatever he can helping his state but he pulled a Bruce Ismay
My wife and I had plane tickets and reservations to Europe and my dad died the night before we were to go. We ate the trip. If we could I’m sure Cruz could afford to eat it as well
The optics on this are terrible if Cruz wants to continue or elevate his political career. I like him (more than 90% of his colleagues) but this is a major mis-step. Being a good leader means being a servant leader.
Cruz up in 2024.
The freeze of 2021 will be long forgotten when he is up for re-election.
He should flip the script and talk about the need to fortify the Texas power grid with good old fossil fuels.

Get all the info before you start putting down Cruz.
Texas is going democrat and will never go back to a conservative state. So may as well get rid of Cruz now for taking vacation. Because Ted Cruz is another superman like Trump was suppose to be. He is suppose to be out there personally de-icing all those frozen windmills and well heads. Cruz should be out with a shovel clearing the roads. Ted Cruz should be in the super secret lab where Dick Cheney’s secret weather machine is stored and bring in warm air to Texas. Let’s treat him like democrats treated Trump. Trump should have been in the White house bio research lab and personally created a vaccine. Trump should have been in the White House manufacturing facility personally building Ventilators and N95 masks.
Meanwhile. The democrats are going to legalize tens of millions of illegal aliens. If you don’t like Cruz for taking vacation. Great. The illegals will vote him out soon enough and you’ll never have to worry about a republican in Texas ever again.
