Boiled, fried, scrambled or in an omelette, whole eggs pose a threat to health and eating more of them increases your risk of death, a study claims.
Researchers found eating just half a whole egg — which includes the yolk and the white — increases the likelihood of dying by seven per cent.
Risk of death increases by a further seven per cent for every half an egg on top of this, so a person eating one egg a day has at 14 per cent greater chance of death than someone who avoids the food.
Chinese researchers who led the study believe high fat and cholesterol levels in eggs are to blame.
They warned that people should use only the whites or switch to healthier egg substitutes, which lower the risk of dying.
Substituting an equivalent amount of nuts or legumes for half a whole egg reduced death rates by up to a third. Poultry, dish or dairy products had a similar effect.

I suspect that the Chinese are trying to keep poultry prices low, considering how much livestock they’ve been losing due to Bird Flu.
OBVIOUSLY there some political motivation, since their claim was discredited decades ago.
When I see someone order a white egg omelet, I shed tears for them.
The cholesterol in eggs is only bad if you are also eating cheap carbohydrates frequently. You’re body will not only metabolize oils, triglycerides add cholesterol if you eat right, but if you are active (sometimes rigorously) your body will actually need them.
But yes, overweight, lazy, spoiled modern people should probably not be eating egg yolks and bacon along with their toast and sugary cereal.
If you eat right, don’t drink, don’t smoke, get plenty of rest and exercise, you’ll get eight more years in an old folks home.
I had three soft cooked eggs on an english muffin this morning. I may already be dead, I just dont realize it.
Pretty sure we’re all dying a little bit every day; some days more than others, depending upon what the Socialist Democrats get away with on any given day. *SPIT*
The YOLK is the only part worth eating, IMHO. Nothing better than a piece of buttered toast dipped in a runny egg yolk!
Fried in lard!
All he wants to do is flatten the curve.
Haha, I’m going to have three eggs fried in butter or bacon grease for my first meal. I don’t eat breakfast, so it may be around 2:00 when I have my first meal.
I’ll ignore that advice. I’ve lost 40 pounds since June eating at least 3 eggs a day (plus lots of veg, whole grains and starches like potatoes). No longer type 2 diabetic, normal blood glucose, normal blood pressure now. I get the BIG cartons of eggs at Costco or Sam’s!
:) indeed.
Sounds like yer in heaven already.
Settled science, right? Along with the 1970s new Ice Age, New York under water by 1999, “healthy margarine, et al.
I’d rather have 7% less of my life with eggs than 7% more without eggs.
Since the likelihood of dying is 100% ... this sentence is nonsense.
