Democrats rule Washington. 5 reasons they may not be able to hang on. (Can Trump get Pelosi fired?)

WASHINGTON - President Joe Biden and the new Democratic Congress were just sworn in, but the clock has already started on the 2022 midterm elections, when voters will decide if the president gets more than two years to advance his agenda with a friendly Congress.

Democrats have to defend a narrow 221-211 majority in the House (218 seats are needed for control) and the 50-50 Senate, where losing even a single seat will cost the party the chamber.

History is not on their side. Americans typically put a check on power, and the president's party has lost House seats in nearly every midterm since the 1930s. They typically suffer big losses in their first midterm.

"In 2020, House Republicans won 28 out of the 29 most competitive districts by highlighting the exact job-killing policies Joe Biden has enacted during his first week in office," said Michael McAdams, spokesperson for the National Republican Congressional Committee, the campaign arm of the House GOP. "If House Democrats thought 2020 was bad, they aren't the slightest bit prepared for what the 2022 cycle has in store."

Meanwhile, in the Senate, the map is set. Democrats have to defend Sens. Raphael Warnock, D-Ga., and Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., who just won special elections, but have to run again to seek a full six-year term. They also have senators up for re-election in New Hampshire and Nevada, which Biden carried only narrowly.

On the Republican side, Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Toomey is retiring, leaving behind an open seat in a state Biden carried. Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson, a staunch conservative, is up for re-election in another Biden state. And the GOP will have to defend seats in battleground North Carolina and Florida as well.

It's early yet, and there are more questions than answers about the next two years of American politics. Here are the five big ones: 1. What does Trump do?

RATS are worried. Keep them that way.

Frankly, Pelosi wields way, way, way too much power in DC.

She’s the one running things, not Biden/Harris. Just watching him yesterday(?) signing that one EO and he says he doesn’t know what he is signing...and Pelosi tells hime to “just sign it.”

I was concerned over Pelosi’s power grabs a few years back and she is getting worse and worse as each day passes. There is no one to ‘check’ her power. Trump couldn’t seem to do it, nor the SCOTUS. Mitch walked the tight-rope with her, but clearly still wasn’t able to put her in her proper place.

Pelosi is running the country and has been since early on in the Obama years.

It would have to be a Democrat led rebellion in the house supported by a number of Republicans. Some Republicans might support a confidence vote.

This is a clever piece of propaganda. Through this piece, the media/communists are attempting to normalize the Traitor Joe et al “victories” as if they were won fairly.

Indeed, IF these results were from a fair election the opinions here would be well grounded. Nevertheless, they are not. Their idea here is to make us believe that we can win in 2022 because there was no voter fraud in 2020.
This is gas lighting at its most effective.

If 2022’s elections can be conducted fairly the Democrat/communists have no chance. It is , therefore up to each American patriot to work as hard as can be to see that we beat fraud vote.

Beating voter fraud is more important than beating Covid-19. We can survive the Covid, but we cannot survive voter fraud.

With the Democrat counters determining who is elected, what worries do they have?

The Dims/Pinko’s concentrated almost solely on getting Trump out thru massive fraud. They assumed the house would be just fine, so not much effort was put in there.
Then, because the blatant in out face fraud was allowed to happen with nary an eye batted, and the entire judicial system biased against Trump and us; they pulled it off again in Georgia.
We aren’t going to have anything other than a Dim majority and super-majority ever again. I sure hope I’m wrong, but that’s what happens in places where Dominion machines are used.

Nobody is “putting a check” on Democrat power. The Democrats have cast aside the law, in broad daylight, and have successfully stolen our country. This Nation was bought with blood and now it can only be taken back with blood.

That 50-50 senate will soon be 54-50 after the PR and DC are in the senate. DC is not as big as my county. When do we get our two senators??

Americans typically put a check on power

Americans put a check on power in the 2020 election but it was negated by computers and software that cheat for democrats; unsigned and unverified ballots; illegal ballot stuffing; State and Federal AGs who allowed the steal; State Courts and SCOTUS who allowed the steal; mass news and other media who defended the steal.

Americans elected President Trump to a 2nd term in 2020 but it didn't count (pun intended). We can be sure that dems will employ the same cheating tactics going forward. 2020 proved that there is no one to stop them.

With 10s of millions of illegal immigrants gaining voting rights under the dems in power, DC statehood giving dems 2 more senators and possibly PR statehood giving dems 2 more senators - I see dems controlling our government for decades.

We've heard President Trump, Rush and others basically say that the U.S. will never embrace socialism. After many years of socialist/communist indoctrination through our school system, I believe we've reached a tipping point where the current and future generations will embrace socialist/communist. The republic envisioned and designed by our founders - is gone.

Pelosi wields way, way, way too much power; she grabs the Speakership every time....no one is able to put a ‘check’ on her.....

Good point........ she gets elected Speaker even as Democrats b*tch and moan about her. They elect her, despite their misgivings.

We need to have transparency here. Clearly, she wields and deals our tax dollars to get elected Speaker:
<><> promising free Congressional tax-paid foreign trips on her tax-paid govt plane;
<><> financial pkgs to their districts--using targeted legislative initiatives;
<><> promises of asst perks and privileges only she can dole out.
<><> putting relatives and friends on the Congressional payroll;
<><> doling out US govt pension applications, and so on.

Being a Congressional relic, she knows all the tricks to get tax dollars.
Plus she controls DNC campaign money----a big factor in her power mongering.

NEED TO KNOW ASAP:
<><> what is her Speaker budget?
<><> lists of her tax-paid reimbursement vouchers
<><> how many tax-paid trips does she have planned (need advance planning so the info is out there)
<><> lists of govt sinecures and bailiwicks she's doled out to Congressional relatives and friends.
<><> lists of phantom people she's put on the govt payroll, and so on.

An idiotic article in light of the immense election fraud, corporate social media & international interference in our elections.

No voice, no vote, no law, no justice.

SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE: As the presiding officer of the House of Representatives, the Speaker of the House holds one of the highest positions in Congress. The position is filled at the start of each two-year term in a vote by the full House membership. The selection of the Speaker is generally determined by the majority party, and thus the Speaker is always a leading member of that party. The Speaker’s broad powers and privileges allow the majority to control the House’s legislative agenda.

The significance of the office cannot be underestimated. The Speaker is in a position to set the rules of the House and to adjudicate when procedural conflicts arise. The Speaker’s rulings can be challenged, but rarely are; traditionally, they are final. Behind the scenes, the office’s power is even broader. This is because voting is a relatively small part of the House’s business: its essential legislative work is done in committees. The Speaker plays a vital role in appointing committee chairs, influences the referral of bills to the committees, and effectively decides the timetables of the bills. Bills favored by the Speaker will leave committee more quickly and come to an early vote. The minority party’s concerns will wait.

Outside Congress, the Speaker customarily enjoys high visibility in U.S. politics. The media frequently report the Speaker’s opinions, transforming the office into a political bully pulpit much like that of the Senate majority leader, and the Speaker often campaigns for party loyalists in election years. Depending on which party occupies the White House, the Speaker can be either a strategically placed ally or powerful foe of the president. The relationship between the two branches of government does not end there: under the rules of succession, the Speaker is second in line after the vice president to assume the presidency.

Now that the rats have perfected the election fraud, there will never be another fair election in America. If a Republican wins an election it will be because he is owned by the rats.

They’re not worried. Big tech will pull it off for them by censoring their opponents and giving them $100 million per senate seat in spending money like they did in Georgia.
