A strong appeal to those who prophesied Trump’s reelection - Admit Your Error and Take Full Responsibility!
Christian Post ^ | 01/23/2021 | Michael Brown

Posted on 01/23/2021 10:03:12 AM PST by SeekAndFind

January 20th is past, and Joe Biden, not Donald Trump, is the President of the United States. To all those who prophesied that Trump would serve a second consecutive term and assured us that he would be inaugurated on the 20th, I appeal to you in the strongest possible terms: admit your error, take full responsibility, and do not, under any circumstances, continue to put a false hope into the hearts of God’s people.

What you prophesied did not come to pass.

There is not an alternative, spiritual reality in which Trump is still functioning as president.

Nothing is going to change in a month or a year.

It’s over.

Even if there was massive electoral fraud, the results of this election will not be overturned.

Donald Trump will not serve a second, consecutive term.

Face the facts, be accountable before God and man, take the hits that will be coming, and humble yourself before the Lord and His people.

This is not the time for excuses. This is not the time to concoct spiritual myths. And this is absolutely not the time to blame others.

If you prophesied falsely, you and you alone are to blame.

Maybe you did not intend to mislead.

Maybe you were acting in sincerity and integrity, truly believing the Lord had spoken and doing your best to stand firm in faith no matter what. After all, you thought to yourself, isn’t that what faith does?

Maybe you were so grieved over where the radical left was going that you prophesied what you desired, namely, the reelection of Trump.

Maybe you sensed God’s intent, namely that if Trump would repent of his pride and the church would repent of looking to him in an idolatrous way, God would give him four more years.

Maybe you got caught up in the power of the group, finding affirmation in others saying the same things.

Maybe you prophesied what your people wanted to hear, subconsciously tickling their itching ears.

Maybe you got caught up in a partisan political spirit.

Maybe you looked to Trump as a political messiah and God answered you out of the idolatry of your own heart.

Or maybe you fell prey to demonic deception.

Whatever the cause, you prophesied falsely, and now you need to own it. The last thing you should do is feel sorry for yourself and claim that you are being persecuted. Quite the contrary. The reality is that you have misled many.

As a result of your false prophecies, many believers are experiencing a crisis of faith right now. Who will be there to pick up the pieces?

After all, they wonder, how could all the prophets be wrong? (To the extent that you urged your hearers to hold on to the very end, to that extent you are responsible for bringing them to this point of crisis.)

Worse still, some of you issued prophetic threats to those who questioned your words, telling them they had to “believe the prophets” or else. And you did this while claiming to speak directly for God.

The Lord does not take it lightly when His people are abused like this. He will hold you responsible for misrepresenting Him.

So many of God’s people are hurting, and the world is mocking us, thinking that our faith in Jesus is just as false as these failed Trump prophecies.

One young man posted online that he had been telling his family, none of whom were believers, that Trump would be reelected, based on the words of the prophets. He thought it would glorify the Lord when Trump was miraculously inaugurated. Now, he said, he doesn’t think he can ever talk to them about the Lord again.

Do we realize the damage that has been done?

One woman who falsely claims to be a prophet said that God has been making a list, noting who is listening to the prophets and who is not. Those who are not, she warns – claiming to speak for the Lord – will lose their voice and their ministries.

This is deep deception and serious spiritual manipulation.

If God is making a list it is a list of those who misled His sheep. A list of those who threatened His children if they failed to “believe the prophets.” A list of those who brought dishonor to the name of His Son.

Now is the time to repent, openly, publicly, and forthrightly.

Now is the time to find accountability from other leaders in the Body who did not fall into this same error.

Now is the time for some serious soul-searching.

It’s what the Bible calls bringing forth fruits worthy of repentance. This is no small thing.

If you continue to prophesy falsehoods and assure your followers that Biden will soon be replaced by Trump (and I don’t mean in 2024), I warn you that you are moving into complete spiritual fantasy and leading others with you. Careful!

The reality is that I’m writing all this as a charismatic leader rather than as a charismatic basher, as a proponent of prophetic ministry rather than as an opponent. I’m writing as a friend, not an enemy.

In fact, it is a holy jealousy that drives me – jealousy for the honor of Jesus’ name, jealousy for the health of His flock, and jealousy for the purity of prophetic ministry.

I also write out of a holy jealousy for your own ministry and calling.

All of us can make mistakes, even serious ones like this. Our God is a God of forgiveness, and redemption is the central message of our faith. You can come out of this closer to Jesus, deeper in the Word, godlier in character, and more in tune with the Spirit. And to the depth of your humility, to that degree the Lord will restore and rebuild.

But please, I appeal to you again.

Don’t blame others. Don’t make excuses. And don’t perpetuate any further spiritual fantasy. It’s over.

Now, what are you going to do?

RE: Dr. Brown’s “personal prediction” is presented by him as having the weight of a prophecy

That is *NOT* the impression I get and I sort of “know” the man like I “know” Rush Limbaugh. He does not fancy himself as having the gift of prophecy ( as in foretelling the future ).

If he does not show any doubt in his personal (emphasis) prediction ( not as a prophet to the church), it is because he is quite certain that a Democrat will serve out the current term as President ( be it Joe or Kamala ).

"I did notice that ALL of the quotes you posted were BEFORE the November 2016 elections."

A lie. Just like Michael Brown.

My very first post, #135, where I linked to Brown's calumny, was from Jan. 19, 2021:

"I truly believe that four more years of Donald Trump would have led to greater spiritual complacency and even triumphalism, not to mention the vulgarizing of our own souls.

Four more years of Trump would have destroyed our witness even more severely, as evangelical Christians (in particular, white evangelical Christians) would have been better known for association with Trump than association with Jesus. (As it is, much damage has been done and we have much ground to recover.)"

Figuring that you would not bother to go to Brown's own statement, in #180, I directly excerpted his rants, opening each paragraph with the precise dates -- "Jan. 14, 2021" and "Jan. 16, 2021" -- the former where Brown conjured:

"Did we sell our souls by voting for Trump? Did we make a deal with the devil that was bound to end in failure and disgrace?"

So in fact, Brown's 3 statements that I first posted were all MADE BY HIM WITHIN THE PAST WEEK.

I get that you don't like how I've proven, using his own words, that Brown is a demonizer of men. Happy to start posting more Brownstain today...

RE: Quoting Dr. Brown ( from your post):

Four more years of Trump would have destroyed our witness even more severely, as evangelical Christians (in particular, white evangelical Christians) would have been better known for association with Trump than association with Jesus

I don't think the above quote is anti-Trump. It is a warning to Christians against identifying themselves with the President. In a sense, there is a danger for Christians in idolizing a mere, flawed, mortal and supporting EVERYTHING he does without seriously thinking whether what he is doing conforms to Biblical values or not.

You support Trump if and only if his policies conform to Biblical teachings. I don't see how his above quote can be interpreted as being against Trump. It is more Pro-Jesus than anything else.

And I do note that you IGNORED my other long post showing his support for Trump's policies.

Overall, looking at Dr. Brown's stance, it can be summarized as QUALIFIED SUPPORT for Trump. And his support for Trump is buttressed and informed by the Bible. I see nothing wrong with the quote that you posted. It is simply a note of caution, not an expression of being against Trump.

RE: I get that you don’t like how I’ve proven, using his own words, that Brown is a demonizer of men.

You haven’t proven that even from the quote you posted. All you’ve done taken together with Brown’s other quotes, is shown the he supports Trump’s policies AND VOTED FOR HIM TWICE, but does not idolize him personally. Nothing wrong with that.

The word “demonizer” applies to the MSNBC Pundits, not to Michael Brown.

"Overall"

Just sinful. The guy has you fooled, like an ordinary agent of Satan. You don't need to admit it, you lied about me, about what I posted -- not surprised.

RE: You don’t need to admit it, you lied about me, about what I posted — not surprised

The issue is this - is Michael Brown an anti-Trumper? Is he a preacher who is against Donald Trump? The answer is NO and NO.

The OVERALL picture shows:

1. That he voted for Trump twice.

2. He supports Trump because he looked at his policies and they support Christians as opposed to the policies of Democrats.

3. He is against idolizing any person, Trump included.

4. He warned self styled prophets in church against foretelling the future and telling the church that these are messages from God. He urges them to repent seeing how their prophecies failed to come to pass.

NOTHING in what you posted, not his quotes balanced against his other quotes refutes those 4 points.

You act like you are the first person in this world to have fallen for a Deceiver like Brown.

His own words condemn Trump as he condemns himself,as I have shown.

Brown even caused you to lie about me.

Matthew 24:4. Repent.

So you don't...Okay..right.

RE: But you deem people making predictions “prophet’s...

No. If you simply make predictions based on your best knowledge of the situation, that does not necessarily make you a prophet. a prognosticator or forecaster is the better term for these people.

However, when you make a prediction and prefix it with — This is God’s Message, or God Told Me, or Thus Sayeth the Lord, or something similar, especially to the Christian Church, then you are a “prophet” and your prophecy better come to past or you are a false prophet.

RE: Do you know any real Prophets?

Not after the close of the New Testament era and the Biblical Canon was completed.

RE: You act like you are the first person in this world to have fallen for a Deceiver like Brown.

Show me first where he deceived anyone. Otherwise, you are simply using the term inaccurately.

RE: His own words condemn Trump as he condemns himself,as I have shown.

His own words tell us that he SUPPORTS Trump when Trump’s policies are in harmony with Biblical values. His own words also warn us against overly idolizing the man as he is a flawed person.

I see nothing wrong with that. Why Do you?

RE: Matthew 24:4. Repent.

Show me first why I should repent, otherwise, it would be an act of false humility to do so.

RE: A lie. Just like Michael Brown.

My very first post, #135, where I linked to Brown’s calumny, was from Jan. 19, 2021:

_________________________

A point of clarification before you call me a liar WITHOUT CONTEXT, If you looked at my initial response to you in Post #262, I was referring to your list of quotes from Michael Brown in your Post #224. All of those quotes were dated 2016 BEFORE the November 2016 elections. THAT WAS THE CONTEXT OF MY RESPONSE.

But I DID address your later post where you quoted Brown’s quotes in January 2021 in Post #283 (from your post in #282).

So, where’s the lie? I was addressing SPECIFIC POSTS OF YOURS.

And as for you, you have not even come close to addressing the points I made.

David was anointed the true King of Israel when God withdrew his favor from Saul. Still David had to flee and hide in the wilderness for a period of years and he would not even kill Saul when he had the chance until God had set the final act of Saul’s destruction in motion. Only then, and not by David’s hand, could David be truly king!

Trump may be the “true president” but the hardness in the heart of our deep state bureaucracy won’t let him be such...to our nation’s folly; sometimes that is how God punishes a nation by leaving us to wallow in the slime pit of our own devices. It sucks for the righteous but we must have courage and faith that God will lead us out the otherside!

I came to that conclusion a week before the election when Melania made a plaintive speech for Trump support and urging homosexual rights groups and minorities to consider how much Trump has supported them and has treated them fairly. At that point in the speech my heart sank and I knew Trump wouldn’t be president...not because he had treated the immoral fairly as he has tried to treat all Americans fairly and has stood for some worthy goals.

We have a considerable number in this land that denies Christ and all that is good and decent. The world again is being deluded into thinking that Barrabas is good and Christ is evil. I fear that Barrabas is what we shall be given.

"A point of clarification before you call me a liar WITHOUT CONTEXT, If you looked at my initial response to you in Post #262, I was referring to your list of quotes from Michael Brown in your Post #224."

You're lying again. Not only that, you're attempting to parse your own posts specifically to continue your prevarications and run away from the truth.

"I did notice that ALL of the quotes you posted were BEFORE the November 2016 elections. That was the time when MANY people ( FReepers included ) had RESERVATIONS about Donald Trump."

That can only be interpreted as "I did notice that ALL of the quotes you posted were BEFORE the November 2016 elections".

You made no attempt to quantify or qualify your language, you made no attempt to directly cite my posts; and if now you seek to use your imprecision as a defense, or somehow rely on your overall lack of lucidity as an excuse, that's between you and your Deceiver.

RE: That can only be interpreted as “I did notice that ALL of the quotes you posted were BEFORE the November 2016 elections

Again, you conveniently IGNORE the fact that my statement was IN RESPONSE TO ONE OF YOUR SPECIFIC POSTS. NOT ALL OF YOUR OTHER POSTS. *THAT* Specific post only highlighted Dr. Browns quotes before the 2016 election.

And I DID respond to your subsequent post too.

And I am qualifying it now as I have more than once. It’s not my fault that you ignore my qualifications.

And again, you still have not addressed the points I raised. I wonder why... I have to sadly conclude at this point that reason is NOT on your side.

If you’re saying that Biblical prophets have ceased to exist after the close of the New Testament era, I will say that I tend to agree with you but with the caveat that we cannot limit God and what He can do today.

I cannot say categorically that because God has spoken in the past, therefore, He will not speak again through prophetic ministry today.

However, every single utterance by someone who calls himself a prophet of God, even those who foretell the future, have to be judged based on Biblical teachings. God does not contradict Himself.
