Longtime Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.) has joined a growing number of House Republicans in saying he plans to vote to impeach President Trump on Wednesday following a deadly riot by a mob of his supporters at the U.S. Capitol last week.

“Today the President characterized his inflammatory rhetoric at last Wednesday’s rally as ‘totally appropriate,’ and he expressed no regrets for last week’s violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol,” Upton said in a statement Tuesday.

Why should Trump leave GOP when 90% of republican VOTERS view him favorably?

I think better strategy is to primary all the RINO’s infesting GOP.

Your thinking is delusional at best. Can you show me ONE solitary example in 250 year history of USA, when a 3rd party won anything?

I mean

One could argue even as a southerner like me that Lincoln with 39% of the vote acted determined and offered good terms

Roosevelt even though smeared by neocon talk radio today was ballsy

Coolidge did no harm

Goldwater tried

Helms and Tower opened the way for Dixiecrats and southern social conservatives to go GOPe

Reagan stands out yet was opposed by the party largely

And then their Trump and a few legislators today

I mean other than compare to Dems.....what the hell is so wonderful about the GOPe really in 160 years

I can find as many or more Democrats that were tolerable or actually good

Talk radio and GOPe punditry has truly misinformed the electorate about GOPe history with its steady pep club mentality

They and the GOPe have failed us

The GOP is infested with establishment scum. Burn it down. It will be much quicker to start from scratch and not have to spend time fighting with and getting rid of establishment scumbags.

1. firstly, Upton should show just what crime PDJT supposedly committed (so far, it is not a crime in USA to invite people to “peacefully assemble”)
2. secondly, the vast majority of people in the KZoo region do NOT support such an unjustified attack on President Trump

and not run multiple candidates in any given primary.

BINGO! When you have a half dozen candidates on one side, you dilute the chances of a real challenger to unseat a GOPe squish.

Pro-China Rep. Upton has a niece with fine tiddies.
Other than that, Fred is entirely replaceable.

I wish fixing to post this on another thread, but it does give some perspective:

About Churchill’s defeat in 1945:

Many think the main thing that cost him the election in 1945, was he gave a speech right before the election, against the advice of the Tories and even his wife, to bash Labour as advocating Socialism and that they would use “Gestapo” tactics.

The use of the word “Gestapo”, right after the war to associate with the Labour Party appalled many, even many Tories, who then distanced from Churchill because of it.

But, as we all know, Churchill eventually returned to 10 Downing Street.

Sometime between now and Biden’s inauguration, I will change my voter registration from Republican to Independent and will opt out of all the Republican emails. I donated to Josh Hawley when he said he was going to challenge the election results. I will continue to contribute directly to those (few) Republicans who stand for conservative values.

McCarthy speaking now ... he says Trump is partly responsible, and should be held to account. He disagrees with impeachment though.

Another useless creep.

“We must unite.” Sorry pal. I’m not going to unite with the likes of you, or your precious government.
