Vanity: I'm done with Amazon, how about you?

Amazon's censorship is too much. Got along okay before Amazon, can get along without them now.

That sucks. I imagine we can all expect that sort of stuff coming our way no matter where we live on the planet.

That’s why Populism is really a worldwide movement. The sooner people wake up to that, the better off we will all be.

We are truly all brothers and sisters, wherever we are.

In the early days of the Internet, Amazon had an advantage because many retailers did not even have a fully functional website, never mind the ability to do ecommerce.

But the barrier of entry is such that even mom and pop shops can now do business online.

Almost everything you buy through Amazon can now be obtained from the source. For example, I now go directly to LLBean.com to get most of my clothing. I go to Harry's to get my shaving supplies and now they have a full range of toiletries from shampoo to deodorant. I go to Splash.com to get my wines. Also, the customer service is overall excellent at these retailers.

You will probably spend a few dollars more this way but I believe supporting retailers directly is the way to go.

Trouble is, all of the options suck, too. Walmart/Sam’s Club. Costco. They’re all liberal Trump-hating companies.

That's the dilemma we're facing. If you want to boycott the Trump-hating companies, where do you go to buy your stuff?

It is convenient. I’ll give them that.

I'm sure these guys had the same thought.

I have a snow day. It is now cancel day. Amazon Prime and Directv will go too. Getting new email provider. Starting change from Verizon. These big corporations do not reflect my values. My money needs to stop helping them.
I already deleted twitter. I uninstalled numerous apps on my phone. I pledge to never ever buy anything advertised on Facebook or YouTube. I will watch zero YouTube ads. I am simplifying life and reducing exposure to irritants.

I finally got rid of Farcebook. That was hard for me, I went there to argue with idiots and look at cute dogs. Amazon is next. I think this crap is getting very serious.

If you really want to hurt Amazon, start ordering china junk and RETURN EVERYTHING.

IN review, say this cheap china crap arrived defective (wink, wink). Can’t Amazon find some good american products and stop buying China junk.

If 80,000,000 Trump voters returned all the China junk, they would have mountains of returns to process.

I think (correct me if I’m wrong), Amazon will not refund your Prime, only will non-renew.

we live in the sticks. Amazon is what makes it possible. Well, among other online retailers. I suppose we could use Jet.com (Wal-mart’s equivalent), or more Costco and Samsclub.com.

I’ll continue using them for product research. The reviews are handy when researching products but I’ve always tried to find the product elsewhere because I don’t like BIG. I try not to shop at walmart for the same reason. Monopolies/conglomerates etc are not good. Plenty of competition is better. The best form of spread the wealth is 100 small companies instead of one huge company.

In Texas, you can get lots of FREE online books and audio books using public libraries. Out of state people pay a fee. You don’t need Amazon. I live 2 hours from Houston but have a free library card. All I needed was my drivers license number. I have never been to a physical location. I am unsure of posting a link so I took out the (.)

Is there any way the tech wizards at FR can assist Parler with getting back online? FR has its own server, correct?

That’s why boycotts, in my opinion, aren’t really a good option because the next company on the list is just as woke as the one you’re boycotting.

"Bad service" is a very subjective statement.

Also, if I received bad service from Amazon just once (and I have, even though I rarely use them), I can truthfully post a factual statement about it all over their website.

All that I know is that I paid by the month and wasn’t told my benefits would run out at the end of my full year. My notice when I cancelled said that if I cancelled now my benefits would stop on 1/13/2021. I had three days left in the month and I haven’t been on it a year. I have only had it since May 2020. Here is a snip of the email. I cancelled on the 10th of this month.

“We are confirming that you have opted to end your Prime membership. You will continue to have access to your benefits until your membership period ends on January 13, 2021.

If you would like to stay with Prime, click the button below and we’ll make sure your benefits continue uninterrupted.”

I was on the Prime Monthly Plan at $12.99 a month.

I did it already on several products this morning. My typical "customer review" was this:

"I like the product but the Amazon delivery service is awful. They delivered my package a day late because they said nobody was home, and when they eventually delivered it they came by when I was at work and left it outside in the rain. Next time I'll order directly from a brick & mortar retailer and pick it up myself at the store."

Read it and tell me what you find wrong with it. It is 100% true, accurate, and verifiable. I even give the vendor credit for selling a good product.

If you think ditching Twitter, Facebook, Mozilla and Amazon is hard, try whittling down your income so you pay little or no federal income tax.

Get a clue. (Doesn't Amazon deliver those with free shipping?)

We're not boycotting them for being "liberal Trump-hating companies", we're boycotting them for their attack on free speech, particularly their attack on alternative platforms that actually allow free speech.

And we're not just standing up for Trump's free speech, we're standing up for OUR OWN free speech.

And before your knee starts jerking and you begin writing an oh-so-original post about how they're a "private company" and "can do whatever they want" you should search my post for phrases like "First Amendment", lest you sound foolish.
