Former Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said on Sunday that he believed President Trump's actions before supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol last week amounted to an "impeachable offense."
While appearing on ABC's "This Week," Christie, a former U.S. attorney who has supported Trump, said that Republicans in Congress would have to "vote their conscience" if an impeachment article is brought forward and "look at what happened."
"What we had was an incitement to riot at the United States Capitol. We had people killed, and to me there's not a whole lot of question here," said Christie.
Christie added that if he were in Congress, he would vote in favor of impeachment.
"I think if inciting to insurrection isn't [an impeachable offense], I don't really know what it is," he said.

this is what he said in reality but is not the MSM’s favorite quote from the speech. In fact, it really isn’t mentioned.
“Look, the deep state through me a bone, sent me a script and told me what to say when to test my loyalty.”

An impeachment would prevent Trump from getting elected president in the future. It will also remove the benefits he would get which have been given by the Former Presidents Act. The Secret Service protection for him and his family would be useful in the future.
I would think that assuming power fraudulently is impeachable even if you didn’t directly pull the strings
