Christie: If Trump's actions aren't impeachable, 'then I don't really know what is'

Former Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said on Sunday that he believed President Trump's actions before supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol last week amounted to an "impeachable offense."

While appearing on ABC's "This Week," Christie, a former U.S. attorney who has supported Trump, said that Republicans in Congress would have to "vote their conscience" if an impeachment article is brought forward and "look at what happened."

"What we had was an incitement to riot at the United States Capitol. We had people killed, and to me there's not a whole lot of question here," said Christie.

Christie added that if he were in Congress, he would vote in favor of impeachment.

"I think if inciting to insurrection isn't [an impeachable offense], I don't really know what it is," he said.

“Even back then, Trump knew that Christie could not be trusted with any position of responsibility whatsoever.”

I don’t know... could we have been any worse off with tumble guts then with Sessions and Barr as AG?

So what, Pelosi just impeached him on a telephone call asking about Biden’s bribes from Ukraine which later found to be true.

Enjoy your 40 pieces of silver Judas.

I think one of the things, if not the most important, that I am thankful for with Trump is that he pulled the veil off of so many for others to clearly see.

No, he did not “drain the swamp”, but he sure did reveal them didn’t he?

Stunning.

There are many explanations, but I think it is time for all of us to admit that those who drink the swamp water are not to be trusted. They have no discernment. No skepticism. They all read the same media, have the same reality, and act like lemmings and the rest of us just shake our heads. We now have two realities - theirs and ours.

Circular logic and narrative - of course it's an impeachable offense but that's not what happened and it's not what PDJT did.

Crispy has his delusional eye on 2024 and thinks coddling up to the MSM narrative puts him in good stead with the media, they never learn.

Well, his head is filled with lard, so there’s that.

He is sore he didn’t get a cabinet appointment.

Christie reminds we of the fat, blubbering idiot in 1984 that licked the Communists’ boots everyday but then got arrested after denouncing the government in his sleep. His little boy turned him in. This is the future I wish for him.

Anything is impeachable. It’s a political legal action, removal from office.

Christie wants to talk about anything except that New Jersey COVID death toll.

Highest per capita in the nation last time I looked.

Cristie Kremlin is at it again? He’s in competition with Pat loonie Toomey for the most traitorous Northeastern RINO award. With a lifetime free pass to the NJ beaches and lifetime 50% off Kristy Kreme donuts as rewards well Too Me does stand a chance at that prize.

LOL, fatboy thinks his comments will help him get the GOP nomination. I don’t think so.

If he somehow does he’ll lose in a massive landslide as no Trump supporter would vote for him.

Chris Christie is no lightweight.
He’s a heavy hitter.
He’s a well rounded politician.

There’s no getting around it...
Christie casts a big shadow.

Christi has gravitas
You have to admit Christie has a lot of guts

Wherever he goes, Chris Christie makes a big impression
He crushes it.

He carries a lot of weight
Makes a big splash
He’s got a lot of skin on the game

He is an imposing figure. When he walks down the street - people give him a wide berth.

RINO, Christie: I saw the entire Trump speech on Wednesday. There was no call to invade the Capitol Building. None. Those who claim there was are liars, including YOU, Christie. I also saw the very suspicious activities of the US Capitol Police, and the strange front line of very Antifa like rioters breaking into the Capitol windows, people who bore very little similarity to the peaceful demonstrators who listened and cheered the speakers and President Trump just a short time before, people who came prepared for violence and breaking and entering, like those trained Antifa anarchist agitators who disrupted the mostly peaceful BLM marches turning them into riots and violent destructive fire baths destroying downtown areas and small businesses across America. This was planned.

I saw Capitol Police pulling back minimal jokes of barricades which had sufficed to keep honorable demonstrators out, and welcoming them onto the Capitol grounds, opening doors, with one officer saying “ I don’t agree with what were doing, but I have to go along with it!”, as he and four other Capitol Police officers actually ushered Trump supporters into the Capitol Building’s first floor and up a flight of stairs to the Rotunda! Someone ORDERED these officers to open the building to invasion!

This was coordinated to disrupt the debate in both the House and the Senate on rejecting the slate of electors from Arizona. I noted that there was a male Democrat substituting with the gavel in the House for Speaker Nancy Pelosi chairing the House debate when it was interrupted and evacuated due to the “invasion”! Where was Nancy? Was she coordinating the invasion, already in a safe place?

All summer we’ve watched thousands of Progressive, BLM, Antifa, and Democrats riot and burn and destroy American cities and towns, with the Left claiming that such wanton destruction being justified as and excusable exercises of Free Speech. Let a few dozen bad actors, supposedly on the right, abetted by a couple hundred, actual real Trump-supporting gawkers, who had unwisely followed real bad actors into the building or been invited in by Capitol Police, wandering around the Rotunda and halls of the Capitol, taking selfies, and everyone is suddenly outraged, falling all over themselves to find blame in President Trump’s completely legal speech, which merely asked the peaceful crowd to go TO, not IN TO, the Capitol to let their voices be heard demanding justice for a truly fraudulent election we all saw that took place and continually obfuscated before our eyes, with illogical excuses of why it could not be investigated, despite laws that required it to be looked at.

Of course, in this topsy-turvy world of progressive Wokeness, logic, facts, and evidence does not matter one whit. Only the loudest shouted, broadcast and un-censored emotional voices count, regardless of factual content or proof. It’s the seriousness of the accusation that counts, not the truth, or the evidence that it every occurred that matters. What matters is what the media can make people believe happened, even if they never saw it, heard it, or have evidence of what actually happened. The established narrative is what counts, not the objective truth, facts be damned. “Hang him! Hang them... and the horse they rode in on!”
