I think that is what it comes down to.. These conservatives don’t want to overturn the electors the states have certified.
They see Congress having a very narrow role...

We’re not expected to be mindless robots following the exact letter of the law regardless of any circumstance. We’re supposed to reasonably abide by the Constitution but if there is clear fraud and theft, then we deal with it.
Validating a fraudulent election and a fraudulent President isn’t virtuous or “legal”. It is ratifying malfeasance at the highest levels and destroying the freedoms for which the Constitution stands.
All this caused by the SCOTUS who dodged very clear violations of the Constitution on a fake “standing” dodge.
