"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.
When you are awake, you are able to clearly see.

Yes or No-depending on what you mean. Vox is not a troll. He was explaining trolls and the rules for posting comments on his blog. He has several more paragraphs using examples from Free Republic—it seems to me that he was describing out beyond the trees very well.
