He should have insisted that the Republican leadership of the House and the Senate guarantee the $2,000 first.

I have read that the House votes on it Monday.

If you have read that the Senate votes on it Monday too, please post a link to where you read that.

Well,,, it shows there are laws that work both ways. It is a matter of who invokes them

He screwed up big time. His base is very unhappy about him caving to Nancy. Didn’t he say in 2018 that he would never again sign a wasteful omibus spending bill? I am pretty sure he did. He caved.

He could have pocket vetoed it.

And evert news outlet in the country and every government “official” would have crucified him.

There are no real teeth behind this Act but it is the best he can do given his regular veto would have been overridden

Sunlight is necessary. Now everybody will know all about the disgustingly ginormous spending items that Congressional Democrats and Republicans passed. Be prepared to be angry, very angry.

I wrote this elsewhere...there is a great scene in the classic movie "Slap Shot", where Reggie Dunlop announces on a radio interview being taped that "I am placing a personal bounty on the head of Tim McCracken" who was the leader of that night's opponent.

Reggie goes home to rest up before the game, and turns off the radio in mid-playback of his the taped interview. His phone starts ringing almost immediately, with a call from an angry front office head, Joe McGrath.

McGrath: Are you nuts?
Dunlop: Bull----!
McGrath: A bounty? We could all end up in the clinker for this.
Dunlop: oh, big deal, Joe...
McGrath: You can't put a bounty on a man's head.
Dunlop: I just did. (hangs up)

The MSM, Congress, NeverTrumpers, losers, et al = Joe McGrath

Trump = Reggie Dunlop

Yup. What these people need to understand is..unless Trump wins this election, all these games mean NOTHING.

With dementia Joe and his HO in office, they will get to see how a country is torn apart limb by limb by that cabal.

They had nothing to threaten him with, he would have been a hero. He caved, and sold out America First.

You are totally misreading it...

“In the past, Congress has simply ignored other Presidents citing the act...” Which means, when Presidents say “I’m not spending the money”... Congress hasn’t really ever done anything about it.

All POTUS has to do is TELL THEM he’s not gonna sign the check... and then not sign the check. And they ignore it.

Congress can just ignore that... and if they do, no checks get signed.

In this case... that means no $600 Covid payments go out... unless you make them $2000 payments. And no $2000 payments go out... unless you cut the pork (and other stuff) out... and put the 230 thing in.

They’ll have to vote on a new package to get anything done.

The rest is timing. It only lasts 45 days... so, yeah, if they want anything being done before mid-February (Jan 20th in the worst case)... they’ll have to act as he asks... or get nothing now.

The FISCAL year runs from OCTOBER... so there isn’t any looming deadline limiting his 45 day withhold just because the Congress ends in six days.

So, will they vote on this ? And, if they do... what will Trump do then ?

“By Trump signing this bill it’s a slap in the face of all Americans and all he has done, he didn’t have to sign it...”
All you know is what the MSM has reported. You immediately jump on the man with no detail whatsoever other than what the MSM, who despises the man, is telling you. You do not have the sense to wait for the man himself to respond to the MSM reports.
No. You immediately swallow the MSM reports, hook, line, and sinker. In addition to swallowing the MSM report as Gospel, you insult the man based on nothing more than MSM reports.
I served 26 years in our military. I am alive because I had far better men than you by my side.
