Just wondering if any of my fellow Freepers are, like me, spending Christmas Eve solo.
Unlike previous years, however, I'm not quite alone, as I am now sharing my home with a two year old Greyhound I adopted last Spring.
Other than he and I, it's a cozy, quiet, peaceful and solo Christmas Eve. How about everyone else?
Just me, the wife, The Little Dog and Uncle Jim......Beam.
I am alone every Christmas. My entire family died when I was 30 years old. I’m 71 now.
Merry Christmas. Snowy with blowing wind on the prairie there?
First Christmas without my husband. He died November 1, and I really miss him so much. Our daughters are here with me, which is a blessing.
Hi there...
Actually I moved from Long Island to Rapid City SD.
I am getting to know a few peeps here. Nice, nice folks. Just no family...
Thinking of getting a pet.
I am blessed for the ability to Skype, Facetime, etc.
Merry Christmas to all.
Judi :)
You are never alone when you have FR !
Alone apart from my dog.
Merry Christmas!
Yep... lots of wind, not much snow.
But extremely beautiful.
Love the freedom here. just miss family. :)
No one is alone on Free Republic. :)
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
from a solo u.s. citizen in Rapid City South Dakota
Peace
Greyhounds are very sensitive dogs and need comfort, attention. Give them filtered water and due to their size and weight, be sure to let them sleep on the bed.
A Merry Christmas to you all. You are never alone if you remember the reason for the season. He promised never to leave you or forsake you.
Good for you...
Also flying solo - listening to classical music in background and binging on the TV series, “Timeless” while surfing that interwebby thing.
I’ve been alone every Christmas Eve since my kids grew up and moved out. That’s been many years now. I like my solitude. Our Christmas dinner is being delayed until New Year’s. My oldest son had a test for the plague on Monday, and hasn’t heard back yet. My youngest lives in Indiana, and won’t be traveling. I usually go out there to see them as it’s easier for me since I’m retired.
Just me and my 94 year old Aunt, will nice and quiet.
“Two out of three ain’t bad I guess.”
Someone should make a song about that...
So very sorry
Glad about your daughters
Glad you’re here
Yep. Very sensitive. He hasn’t seemed inclined to climb onto the bed, yet. But, if he were to crawl onto it I would most likely just scoot over.
Gosh I am so surrounded by family that it is hard to conceive of being alone. But we are not alone, none of us and not at all. We are surrounded by angels and watched by the holy dead and loved by God. Wherever you are and whoever you are, you are important and loved and definitely not alone. Have a nice Christmas!
