What are your favorite Christmas movies? Please include heartwarming family-friendly movies even if they are not specifically Christmas-oriented.
I would include a recent classic, Christmas Oranges, and favorites from better eras like The Bishop's Wife, Christmas in Connecticut, Miracle on 34th Street, A Christmas Carol, Its A Wonderful Life, Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, Frosty The Snowman, and A Charlie Brown Christmas.
What would you add to that list?

No one has mentioned “Elf” yet. One of my two or three favorite Christmas movies. Bob Newhart. Funny and heartwarming entertainment.

It deserved to be made.
That would have had as much chance as an Ayn Rand Down Home Country Christmas Special being made.

4) A Christmas Snow
5) A Christmas Tree Miracle
6) The Bells of Saint Mary

I agree with you. I just watched that movie last week for the first time ever in my life. I did not like it. The overt themes of alcoholism, depression, domestic violence, suicidal tendencies, etc. did not make for a feel good Christmas movie.

Have you seen Holiday Inn? It’s actually the “original” White Christmas. It’s a lot of fun.

John Candy's Delirious. Suppose the creator of a world finds himself inside that world? With his creative powers intact? This movie displays all the wrong ways to do incarnation. Also a great way to share the Gospel with Muslim friends.

I was born and raised in Jimmy Sewart’s hometown of Indiana, PA, so I also have to go with, “It’s A Wonderful Life.”
Did you know, as a matter of trivia, the movie was technically in violation of the Hays Code? The Hays Code indicated that any criminal act shown would have to be balanced, within the film, with an arrest, punishment or similar negative consequence for the wrongdoer.
I didn’t know that! But it is a good idea putting that in a movie showing that crime don’t pay..
