Good morning, lysie!
You make the best breakfasts ever!
Thanks for remembering the BACON!
That’s the rain I got overnight. Just come straight up I24 to the TN/KY border and you’ll run right into me.
Rain is cleared out of here. Temperature is 31 right now (feels like 22 thanks to the wind). I don’t mind the wind though; helps the moisture on the roads evaporate before freezing. I think I’ll take the rain, wind, cold and snow over our usual Christmastime tornado!
Today I’m running over to our local German bakery and see what kind of goodies I can snag (they’ve already posted this morning about stollen and Lebkuchen, Linzer, Tiger Eyes, Butter and Nut Stars; last night they posted about TRUFFLES!). Also going to the local butcher; they do catering and deli/grill besides. I didn’t preorder anything but the deli side has readymade things like broccoli salad, pigs in a blanket (American style), small pans of hashbrown casserole, individual Neiman Marcus bars, etc. Yesterday they had their ground chuck on their Facebook page at $3 a pound if you bought 3 pounds or more; they’re closing tonight until Dec. 28 so they need to sell as much meat as possible!
Good morning, lysie!
Everything looks absolutely delicious, thanks.
I made my linzertorte on Saturday. I like to give the flavors of the jams, zests, and spices a chance to blend. Right now the cake is enjoying pride of place on our sideboard, decorated with holly springs.
Asymptomatic spread of COVID-19 may be rare, new research finds
Symptomatic cases were far more likely to transmit the virus than asymptomatic ones, the authors found.

A study published this month in the American Medical Association’s JAMA Network Open journal has offered further evidence that asymptomatic spread of COVID-19 may be significantly lower than previously thought.
Fears of COVID-19 spreading asymptomatically have persisted since shortly after the beginning of the pandemic. Many public health authorities in the United States and elsewhere initially argued that only those individuals with symptoms of COVID-19 should take precautions such as wearing masks and staying at home.
But fears that the virus may be spread to a significant degree by asymptomatic carriers soon led government leaders to issue broad and lengthy stay-at-home orders and mask mandates out of concerns that anyone could be a silent spreader.
“[A]symptomatic individuals may be carriers of the COVID-19 virus and may unknowingly spread the virus to other individuals in close proximity,” read a characteristic mask mandate by Delaware Gov. John Carney in late April, one of many issued in the spring in response to fears of asymptomatic spread.
Yet evidence in support of common asymptomatic spread has remained elusive, and multiple studies and surveys conducted since the spring have suggested its prevalence may have been overstated.
Sounds nice and cozy! You iron your meals? You are much neater than us. We serve ours wrinkled. ;)
ROTFLOL! I had to go back and re-read my post. I will laugh about that for a long time to come.
Merry Christmas: Ossoff/ Warnock campaign workers confess to stealing packages from voters’ homes while distributing Democratic campaign literature. Their bosses would like to go to Washington and take more of what’s yours, too.
Good morning, lysie!
What a yummy Christmas Eve breakfast!
Enjoy your day and your cafe outing. Especially important to support our local restaurants....that the leftists seem determined to destroy.
Good morning, gub. Love our POTUS’ sense of humor...calling out these thugs, while making (another) excellent point.
Good morning, Gran.
How’s the weather looking, for Christmas?
We’re having a chilly Christmas.....60°.
How was Slaveway? Crazy?
Our H‑E‑B was, yesterday.
That’s a great idea, Judy....your own, personal pie.
Sorry to hear that the weather put a damper on your travel plans.
More time for pie!
Shame on the weather for not cooperating and ruining your Christmas plans but you are wise to not risk the drive.
Good morning, Judy.
Love the great gifs, this morning, Vlad. 😍
That black ice is so scary!!
Stay safe. Hope Santa brings some snow, snow, snow ;-)
Morning, Jane!
The low this morning was 7*, very bitterly cold.
Christmas Day will be around 40, with no snow expected.
May get some next Monday, praying.
Wanted to do some last minute shopping yesterday but just too tired.
Hope to get out this morning, probably will be crazy.
7° ?? That IS cold.
Bundle up and be safe.
Mornin’ Ladies....
I may take a drive out before the bad weather hits, just to make sure the kids have their little envelope for Christmas morning. I don’t want to get stuck though.....I can only play Monopoly and Crazy Eights for so many hours lol. I did purchase Socialist Monopoly last year, but haven’t played it yet. I suspect the game ends fairly quickly with the government “winning” all of the money lol.
My personal pies are called full-size.
Good morning ... I'm so sorry, I just saw your post. Thank you for your sweet note. I'm also so sorry to hear you're in pain ... and I pray you get some relief and soon! We need you around here! :)
This has been a wild and crazy (not the good kind) year. I think it's been pretty exhausting for everyone ... myself included. I know I'm looking forward to hearing some good news; fingers crossed.
In the meantime, I hope you and yours enjoy a very Merry Christmas.
Warm regards ~~ RIV
