A Yankee is a person who lives north of the Mason-Dixon line.
A carpetbagger is a Yankee who packs up his stuff in a suitcase and comes south to enlighten us.
But a DAMNYANKEE is a Yankee who comes south and decides to stay.
So often these damnyankees will begin a sentence saying, “Back in the north, we did it this way ...”
Now, most of us G.R.I.T.S. (Girls Raised In The South) have nothing against Yankees. Y’all have your way of thinking and doing and that is fine. Carpetbaggers are tolerated, barely, because once they leave again we can go back to doing things our way. But, DAMNYANKEES just don’t quit!

Now that the Biden Administration will be a scandal plagued mess for years to come, it is much easier for the Supreme Court of the United States to follow the Constitution and do what everybody knows has to be done. They must show great Courage & Wisdom. Save the USA!!!

I assumed the “island” talk was just joking around. These things run through our minds and it’s fun to “plan” for them. At least that’s my take....fwiw. Harmless banter. If anyone thinks I’m moving, homeschooling a bunch of kids and making pies all day....well, no comment.

How utterly silly. We joke around all the time on this thread. If someone is so traumatized by some OBVIOUS banter about finding an island, all they need to do is ask one of us if we’re actually serious. To go into “absolute panic” over a few silly remarks suggests something else to me. I hope this person doesn’t think that I was actually on a train during the last Trump rally, locked in the hospital car with an IV bag full of wine and Jeeves the Elder with me! My reputation!
Tell your friend that some people on the Trump Train actually have managed to keep a sense of humor and it helps us get through these stressful times. No, I will not bother removing some ridiculous posts about getting an island, home-schooling, and making pies.
