RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Alonzo “Lon” T. Adams II, the man who created the formula for Slim Jim beef jerky sticks, has died from complications of COVID-19. He was 95.
Lynn Barrow of Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Raleigh, North Carolina, confirmed Wednesday that Adams died on Nov. 28. A graveside funeral service was held Wednesday, Barrow said.

COVID or not, 95 is a good run. I’ve definitely enjoyed his products over the years, although some of the spin off flavors have been hit or miss. The tabasco slim jims are great. They made a Jamaican Jerk flavor for a while that was also pretty good. The honey barbecue flavor OTOH, could gag a maggot.

Getting shot in the head probably doesn’t help with longevity but I’ll concede that decision to Dr. Fauci.
When did Adams develop his recipe? I remember it used to be TERRIFIC but then when they added soy, it lost its original crispness plus that kind of delicious fatty taste. After the soy additive I pretty much stopped eating Slim Jims on a regular basis.

My cat is seriously bummed about this. She’ll literally yank a mild Slim Jim out of my hand and eat the whole thing. Go figure. Last night she ate part of a Buffalo Bob’s beef and pheasant stick I was munching on.

The Slim Jim I remember originally snapped if you broke it off. Also there was a sort of tasty fatiness in it. Then they put in soy additive and it was never the same again.

The COVID-19 lockdown destroyed President Trump’s roaring economy, emptied America’s streets to allow Antifa and BLM free reign, opened the door for vote-by-mail, and gave an obviously infirm Joe Biden an excuse to stay hidden in his basement.
In other words, the COVID-19 lockdown gave the Left everything they could have asked for in advance of the election.
