General rule of thumb for when you stumble upon something weird: Don’t touch it. Especially if it’s a big-ass metal structure of unknown (though, okay, likely human) origin. But that’s exactly what the folks on a sheep-counting expedition (truly) in a remote area of southern Utah did over the weekend. As reported by local NBC affiliate KSL TV, a helicopter crew from the Utah Department Of Public Safety was assisting Division Of Wildlife officers on a mission to count bighorn sheep last week when a biologist spotted a large metal structure on the ground and told them to circle back. Reminiscent of the monolith from Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, this metal structure is said to be about 10 to 12 feet high and looks as though it was planted—not dropped—into the ground.
“We were kind of joking around that if one of us suddenly disappears, then the rest of us make a run for it,” said pilot Bret Hutchings. “We were, like, thinking is this something NASA stuck up there or something. Are they bouncing satellites off it or something?” Hutchings also noted the similarity to 2001 and posited that the monolith could’ve been made by “some new wave artist or something.”

Somewhere in Salt Lake City, all the lights went off...and then back on...and then off again...etc etc etc.
We drove through Nine-Mile Canyon in Utah where there hundreds of petroglyphs along the road.
Many strange drawings that look like spaceships / aliens.
Really quite bizarre.
Some of the cave drawings in Utah are rather spooky and are replicated in many places that are very far apart. They aren’t fakes either. They appear to be sort of super beings, aliens.

Well, if the devil was influencing folks around the world, might then isolated incidents appear connected? From the source, so to speak.
It’s a horror movie trope. Monkey with the mysterious object, wake the bad things, everybody dies. Except the Virgin. And maybe the Joker.
In “2001”, prehistoric ape/men found a 1x3x9 foot (?) black monolith, apparently planted to somehow stimulate their minds and guide them toward sentience/intelligence. In [year] 2001, astronauts dig up an identical one on the Moon, which transmits a shrieking signal to Jupiter when sunlight strikes. A spaceship is sent to the apparent target of the signal, where ... well things get kinda weird as the protagonist’s mind gets stretched beyond the author’s imagination.
Hence the references regarding this thing being found in Utah.
Where the heck have I seen that? That scene in the gif post #8. Scratching my head. Drawing a blank.
It must have evolved there, eh? There’s no more proof that it was designed and placed there than there is for anything else on Earth.

A horse is a horse of course, of course...all my early horse drawings looked just like cave drawings.
I got a big kick out of that one episode of ‘Lost Gold Of WWII’ when the crew uncovered a knife in the tunnel.
They immediately ran it back for analysis thinking it was from the 1930s.
I immediately recognized that knife as a US govt issued knife - one of which I still possess when I worked with the USDA.
After losing a couple of them over the span of my 30yr career, I finally held on to one that I have since I retired in 2009.
Saw that movie when it first came out...it needs to be wider to be a monolith...thats more like a Rod from God :^)
If I understand the rules correctly, he’d have to fight to the death to win the title.
