I’ve grown an affinity for them over the past few years and feel that while they’re know for decades, they are still greatly undervalued and under appreciated as a band especially with their mixture of different musical styles with synthesizers and organs
I like Renegade
My favorite is: “22 Years” on “Serpent Is Rising”.
(..typing on a tablet or I’d put the you tube link..)
Indeed, indeed! Loved KRP!
Come Sail Away....Dennis DeYoung actually lives near me in Burr Ridge, IL.
Say's how old I am.....
Now that we got that out of the way my personal favorite and so far not mentioned songs. A song that had influence on my own playing (drummer for many years) was off of the album Equinox.
Lorelei
Sorry folks-Lorelei
Thank you❣
The Best of Times. Dennis DeYoung is one of the best Rock and-or Roll singers of all time.
I like Renegade. And, one that wasn’t a hit from Paradise Theater — Snowblind.
my high school and college days. The entire grand illusion album. I haven’t seen any votes for rocking the paradise
Is it any wonder I'm not crazy? Is it any wonder I'm sane at all
Well I'm so tired of losing- I got nothing to do and all day to do it
I go out cruisin' but I've no place to go and all night to get there
Is it any wonder I'm not a criminal?
Is it any wonder I'm not in jail?
Is it any wonder I've got...
Too much time on my hands
It's ticking away with my sanity
I've got too much time on my hands
It's hard to believe such a calamity
I've got too much time on my hands
And it's ticking away, ticking away from me
Too much time on my hands
(It's t-t-t-t-ticking away)
Too much time on my hands
(And I don't know what to do with myself)
Too much time on my hands
Too much time on my hands
Too much time on my hands
Too much time on my hands
Now, I'm a jet fuel genius - I can solve the world's problems
Without even trying
I got dozens of friends and the fun never ends
That is, as long as I'm buying
Is it any wonder I'm not the president
Is it any wonder I'm null and void?
Is it any wonder I've got...
Too much time on my hands
It's ticking away with my sanity
I've got too much time on my hands
It's hard to believe such a calamity
I got too much time on my hands
And it's ticking away, ticking away from me
Too much time on my hands
(T-t-t-t-ticking away)
Too much time on my hands
(And I don't know what to do with myself)
Too much time on my hands
Too much time on my hands
(T-t-t-t-ticking away)
Too much time on my hands
Too much time on my hands
(Too much time on my hands)
(Too much time on my)
I don't think Tommy Shaw would agree.
Isn’t the last verse about aliens?
Interesting band. They actually recorded a song about Ted Kennedy.
Favorite song? Half Penny Two Penny
“Half Penny Two Penny, back in the States
You just couldn’t take that African pace
Yes Mrs. Cleaver, your son’s home to stay
We all know its the American Way”
I have an MP3 with Renegade. I like that one.
I'm sure I've listened to things you have never listened to..and vice versus.
I like all music...it's just what you might like yourself.
Here's a guy...that was awesome...but got shut out of Hollywood/ L.A.
First started as a singer in the Merry Go Round...
Emmit Rhodes....Produced albums and played everything himself...Mixed it..and produced it. Excellent artist..
Look him up...
I always thought Sail Away was about alien abduction.
Miss America
That said, these guys did an awful lot of great tunes in that battle for 2nd! The difference being, I think, the directness of that "connection": "Renegade" - well, no, I was never an outlaw fearing for my life. "Crystal Ball" - I was never quite that lost. "Babe" - well, close, but too many scars I don't want to get in to here. "Angry Young Man" - I was never that angry or cynical. "Too Much Time On My Hands" - are you kidding? Great hook, but I've not been bored since I was maybe 14. "Snowblind" - oh, damn, what a powerful song(!), and I've seen it all around me, even in my own family, but I never experienced that myself, thank God!
"I know I'm a fool, but what can I say
Whatever the price I'll pay... for you..."
Yup. Straight to the soul, tears in my eyes every time I hear this song... And do they ever get the mood(s) right.
