THE OFF BUTTON: STOP LIVING ON THEIR TERMS
American Partisan ^ | 10 Nov, 2020 | Jesse James

Posted on 11/14/2020 9:11:40 AM PST by MtnClimber

I’m a political junkie. I have been since I saw the Clinton debates as a kid in 1995, barely old enough to understand anything but the most rudimentary policy positions, yet utterly fascinated by the seeming import of what was going on. Some kids read Sports Illustrated in high school, I (literally) had a subscription to WSJ. Out of that curiosity came an interest in history, finance, philosophy, and the law. The intoxicating blend of those subjects into front page news can lend themselves to slowly rearrange our lives and mental state around things we have largely no affect over. Furthermore, stop willingly bringing people into your life and thoughts who’s entire existence is defined in opposition and hatred to everything you hold dear. Shepard Smith is a creepy little weirdo who puts makeup on and hyperventilates. If you wouldn’t want him in your living room in person, then it’s past time to consider hitting the off button.

The first thing you need to remind yourself and your loved ones of is that 2020 has provided us with incontrovertible evidence the US is a banana republic. No one in public office, specifically not in ANY federal positions should be taken seriously. If, and there is reasonable doubt here, there were any morally sound people in the federal government they left long ago. So stop giving the grifters and nothing men your attention and respect. So much of the general population is agitated because they are taking this process seriously and not as the carnival ring toss it is. The right has been gifted the most ridiculous, unbelievable and criminal election theft to ever grace these shores. Use it. My favorite part of this entire debacle is that there are people all over this country who believe that a stark raving lunatic talking about roaches and black children rubbing his legs in the pool won millions of more votes than Obama did. The guy who forgot the family dog was dead. We have the ability to degrade the legitimacy of the current system, and thus the only power these people have. Things change when people stop listening to them, and that happens only when people are convinced they are no longer obligated to obey.

I hope Creepy Joe and Hodo not get elected. But if they do they are not MY government and I will not treat cheaters with respect. I will mock them and their supporters until they or I am gone.

Cutting tv cable is good first step. Defund LEFTIST media propping up the LEFTIST cabal. Stop paying for being lied to. Force the cable companies to offer a la carte programming.

I pray that Trump pulls this out....

you say you're a political junkie?....I can say that I wrote a 4 page hand written opinion piece about how the Cuban crisis was going to mean war, etc etc...when I was about 10yrs old....its very paranoid and serious....I've always taken everything seriously...

I remember our family in our little rustic cabin in Canada and I would bring my precious transister radio and listen to the conventions....not sure if I was for the pubs or rats back then, but I loved the drama...I loved that they were really serious about their jobs and we had serious men back then....

if this doesn't end well, I'll have to turn all news off, pro sports will be off, cable off, PC charities off, etc....

find your own "plane" of existence with your family and friends....we don't need the outside noise...

I’m sorry but I don’t know what his point is. He doesn’t mention anything about action. Ignoring the mainstream media is easy. I have done it for a long time he doesn’t say how to regain the country back.

Laughing at how it became a banana republic really doesn’t help

I have to agree. It’s the equivalent of being a state prisoner and proclaiming “He’s not MY warden!”

I’m with this guy. Life is short. When there is nothing I can do, I’m not going to be sad and wring hands. We can fight the power of the media by taking our eyeballs off it.

For anyone that has Spectrum out there, they do have a pick 10 plan. It was only offered to me once I called to cancel. It provides the basics plus 10 channels you pick (from a list). So no CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, or ESPN at my house. Also kept the wife happy because she kept Bravo for her reality trash.
It costs $29 a month for stream option, I use a roku.

LOL, my high school librarian was reading National Lampoon and I asked her about it. She said she was seeing if it was ok for high school but it wasn’t - access denied. It was a few years later that I remembered the name and got a subscription.

**************

Do not support and subsidize those who suppress you. Avoid watching or reading anything from the liberal media. They are sources of left wing propaganda designed to manipulate, control, and subjugate us to the power of an overbearing and corrupt government. Do not support them in any way.

Additionally do not patronize any business that promotes and funds liberalism. Boycott them.

Depriving the media and their corporate enablers of money makes it harder for them to fund the Left and its designs against us.

Yup. Except I think the cable companies would love to offer ala cart but the three or four studio refuse to allow that to happen. The cables are forced to take the studio duds like Logo and others in order to allow them to carry channels people actually want, like Hallmark or whatever.

I was perusing the magazine rack at the Lucky supermarket, looking for Skin Diver Magazine, when I came upon this:

I bought it and was hooked.

How many of you are not going to celebrate Thanksgiving in a couple of weeks because of these arbitrary lockdowns and prohibitions from gathering with your families?

My family will do what we have always done. Ignore the government bureaucrats and nanny staters. You won't see any masks or social distancing in our home.

That is what is needed. Mass civil disobedience.

Their schemes only work if there are enough sheeple to cower in their homes worried about the consequences.

Americans are not like that. Stand up for your freedoms and live your lives like you want, not how they want.

A lot of people including this guy keep thinking that this election was Trump vs Biden. The reality is this was an election of Trump vs Trump, ie, a referendum on Trump with votes for Biden being the no votes for Trump, plus of course industrial size level of fraud.

I would be more than happy to just ignore these people but the reality is they are not going to ignore us. They are going to confiscate half of your earnings while they live like kings. They are going to take your guns leaving you and your family defenseless while they and their families are protected by armed guards 24/7. They will mandate you have only minimal government approved transportation while they fly around in private jets. They will build low income housing in your neighborhoods with your own money while they live in untouchable palatial estates in gated communities. Your kids will be forced into government run schools and indoctrinated while their kids go to private ivy league prep schools.

They are not going to allow you to ignore them. They are going to micromanage every aspect of your life and if you don’t live as they say they will imprison or murder you.

The time to just ignore these people is long gone. We are going to have to take the fight to them.

“He’s not MY warden!”

To some extent, that’s learning how to live under tyranny. Most of the human race has for almost the entirety of human history. Most people through history have understood how to go on when the government is your enemy. Most Americans, either through gaslighting or other forms of brainwashing, have never really gotten that...but many now see they need to figure it out. Getting very small, very quiet and hidden as possible is going to become a thing, under our new regime.

Us older white guys are definitely marked, so it’s going to be tougher for people like me...that with a lack of practice. But I am already checking out - canceled my cable and my voter registration (which was just a feeble little protest against fraud, but is probably the best move anyway). I’m planning on getting out of the west for certain, out of the country if possible in the next 5 years. Maybe we have that long, maybe we don’t.

Just a new way of thinking about living...it’s going to take awhile but most in human history have had to do it, I’m sure it can be learned.

The networks don’t call their shows “programming” for nothing.

Their purposes is not to inform, it’s to manipulate your thoughts.

I never could understand why people had to have their “betters” tell them what to think.

I have a mind, and I know what I think.
