Hand delivering my 96 y/o Mom’s ballot tomorrow. We requested an absentee ballot. She said that if it didn’t come in time, she would vote in person even though she won’t go out for anything else. She wasn’t missing out on voting in this election. :D

It doesn’t even have to be a large percentage. But I have met crazy left winger types that have admitted to voting Trump. My dad spent years being a left wing nutter but Pelosi made him a Republican. Sadly he died Labor Day. But impeachment, Burisma and Muslims made him change party affiliation. He was a left wing Christian. He realized Dems were the party of satan.

Yes. Americans voting on Election Day throughout our country’s history, but once again Dems are claiming it’s “too hard” for them, they have “special needs” and whimpering that they “cain’t do it”, they need more time than “regular folks, and it “ain’t fair” etc.
Adding to your completely valid point, every vote counts from legally registered voters only. Not every Tom, Dick, Harry, Delores, Juan and Sheila who (1) didn't register, (2) is not eligible to register or (3) is not a citizen.
and 1 legally registered voter, one ballot. Not a dang mini-van full of ballots.

Imagine those special needs voters having to hitch up the wagon, saddle up and ride or even walk a day just to get to the election oak to vote the way some of our grandparents did.
Somehow mine made it on election day.
I think many people are going to be shocked and awed once the dust settles and the voter numbers come out. Registered Dems, Indies, blacks and Latinos are going to vote for Trump in unheard of numbers. Also non-voters.
I think it’s going to be a very interesting week. DH is going massive shopping early tomorrow (was going today but didn’t) just in case it’s a little too interesting, our fridge is almost completely empty right now.
I’m supposed to drive through Big D on Wednesday morning. I have an alternate route planned just in case....

Videos: Nat’l Guard troops reportedly activated in 10 states, 14 more states expected
As of last week, National Guard troops have reportedly been activated in 10 different states ahead of the Nov. 3 election and 14 more states are expected to activate their guard units this week, according to the New York Times.
National Guard units are being deployed or activated and standing by in anticipation of civil unrest surrounding election day. Videos posted on social media have shown some National Guard units deploying in Pennsylvania and Illinois.

The only election my entire community did not get to cast their votes on election day was in 1985, due to a combination of that being the first year the polling place was relocated and the James River was flooded. The only way into/out of our town is across a bridge, unless one hikes over the mountain from/into a different county. All my grandparents’ lives, from the 1920s until the Election Day Floods of ‘85 from Hurricane Juan, they voted at the poll located in a general store. Folks were disenfranchised and expressed their frustrations, but nothing was done about it. They just missed out, as they were told by the powers-that-be.
