Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) on Tuesday quashed rumors of the possibility that he would accept a position in Joe Biden’s Cabinet.

“The answer is no I have not been approached, nor will I be approached, and I’m not going to be part of the Biden administration,” Romney said during a call with reporters Tuesday.

Romney, an outspoken critic of Trump, was the only GOP senator to vote for one of the articles of impeachment against the president earlier this year. He and Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) were the only sitting Republican lawmakers to call Biden to congratulate him after a number of major news outlets declared Biden the presidential winner.

Speaking of Romney, I just got off the phone with my sister who lives in UT.

I saw it flash on the screen that he was not going to be in a Biden cabinet, told her darn, it was a way to get rid of him.

She said don’t worry they are working on it.

She knows Jason Chaffetz and hopes to talk him into primarying Mitt.

Not sure Jason would want to go back into the swamp, left in such disgust!

That's good to hear.

I remember hearing Chaffetz say, shortly after leaving, he hated the constant fundraising/begging for money, and the inability of Congress to get anything done. Maybe it would be different in the Senate. Maybe he was just burned out or disillusioned at the time.
