Video Proof That Females Talk More Than Males

Ever here the joke about the husband who was looking through the paper when he came upon a study that said women use more words than men?

There was a married man who read in a magazine that, "Men use about 7000 words per day, but women use 20,000". Excited to prove to his wife that he had been right all along when he accused her of talking too much, he showed her the study results. The wife thought for a while, then finally she said to her husband,

"It’s because men never listen so we have have to repeat everything we say twice"

Anyway I want to bring your attention the evidence I found that ends all debate upon which gender uses more words. This study proves that women not only use more words than men do, but that they were also born using more words than men. Unfortunately for men however, it also proves that fathers train their daughters from an early age to accept the fact that us men will shine you ladies on regardless of what you say.

Mind you, I do not promise that fellow Freepers will not ridicule or belittle you for your attempt at sharing your thoughts. There is after all a severe learning curve that you will experience.

Blogging is not for the faint of heart, as many have already realized just from posting comments. Freepers are the most critical people I have ever come across. However, to their credit, they do not suffer fools. So be aware of the ring you desire to enter. You must have thick skin and a heart for the truth, because they will destroy your desire if you are weak.

I told my late dad that women developed language.

Paleolithic men hunted, and could coordinate like wolves or lions, with just grunts and gestures, and slapstick stooge slaps to correct mistakes.

Women, on the other hand, did camp chores and needed more than grunts for whining and griping, gossip, and "mean girl" stuff like catty remarks about the other girl's leopard skin outfit.

James Dobson cited stats of 8000 per day for women and 4000 for men. They were real numbers. I don’t think they measured “listening” tolerances. Makes sure, men, you find a way for her to burn off her words earlier in the day. :-)

I’m guessing that this theory is true for at least 85% of all women, around the world. No matter what race, no matter what income status, women put more energy into communication than most men do.

In very generalized way, probably going all the way back to very ancient times and how people lived and who did what - men went out and hunted for game, women kept the home fires lit and managed the home site and the kids - men communicated by doing (their actions) women communicate by talking.

Men seek demonstration of motive in action, women want to hear answers to their questions. Men seek self-confirmation by the results of what they do, women seek self-confirmation by conversational nodding of agreement from their friends.

That is just a very sexist generalization I know, and I don’t analyze it, it’s just what my life experience says to me. It can be wrong I admit, but we all need something that guides our relationships and the best we have is what we know from experience.

One of my pet peeves is people talking on a cell phone while driving, especially when going through a busy intersection. Based on these observations, I’d say women outnumber the men at least 5 to 1 in doing this. My favorite is a woman with a cell phone up to her ear with one hand, and playing with her hair with the other while she’s looking in the mirror.
