The secret slips out: She was holding them hostage all along, hoping to beat them into submission and vote for Joe Biden.
For the past 200 days, Democratic governors have been commanding their states to go on lockdown, and ordering nursing homes to be seeded with COVID patients.
The result has been the twin disaster of broken economies and high COVID death tolls, way out of proportion to the rest of the country. And incredibly, they're blaming President Trump for all of the bad consequences of their own acts, and reaping big political hay from it.
They do all the harm, Trump gets all the blame, they take all the glory.
What power-mad leftist wouldn't want a heads-I-win, tails-you-lose setup like that? Torture your state, blame Trump, win big.
So it's natural to expect that the worst of them might just keep holding their states on lockdown as a hostage act, at least until election day, to beat their citizens into submission. After that, the mask can come off.
Far-left Democrat Gretchen Whitmer, though, didn't want to wait.
According to Red State:
Whitmer told host Chuck Todd that lockdowns and COVID restrictions can end, if Americans just vote for Joe Biden. The governor, who has become one of the faces of hypocritical lockdowns for the Left over the last few months, insinuated that Trump doesn’t care that 220,000 people have died so far from COVID, and that 8 million positive COVID tests have been logged so far.

Trump is right to deny assistance to these leftist states who harmed their citizens and tried to blame him.
As long as the citizens of Michigan allow her to run all over them, expect more of the same.

She’s devious. You can take that 2 ways...if pressed on it in sure she’ll say what she meant was Biden can control the virus so then she can remove restrictions.

As long as the numbskull Leftists in Michigan keep electing her into office, like Inslee in Washington state or Cuomo in New York state and DeBlasio in New York City, they will get what they deserve.....more of the same like punitive mask-wearing, prolonged lockdowns, shuttering of businesses, and loss of livelihoods and so on, will continue to occur.
Liberals like to hate but they also like their roles as perceived victims of Trump's presidency.
Flush these Leftist dictator governors and mayors out of office and their lot will improve dramatically.
What I’ve gleaned from Joe Biden is, he’d federalize the restrictions and then pour them on according to the instructions of the Lord High Scientist. Curb your enthusiasm, but it wouldn’t be on Whitmer anymore.

Because of her arrogance. She probably thinks that she is immune to scrutiny because the idiotic voters will reelect her.
If slow Joe and the Ho win, the lockdowns will not only continue, they'll morph into something much worse. People will not only be fined for refusing to wear masks and close businesses. They'll start locking us up. They'll start taking over businesses "to be run in a safe manner." We pro freedom and liberty types will literally be rounded up and sent away for "re-education." The US will effectively become some conglomeration of the worst parts of the Third Reich and Soviet Union.
