Another member of the useless GOP..Trump needs to change the name of the party from GOP to something else if elected..and new leadership in the senate and house
Good-bye Susan.
My liberal college professor friend is very impressed with ACB so the senators should be very careful.
Collins may be defeated due to her inability to support Trump’s agenda.
I hope she sees negative movement in the polls that causes reconsideration on the matter.
SusieC knows she’s more valuable to the Rats as a “Republican”.
Once I thought Collins was capable of decency.
Then she does this?
We must find a way to replace her ASAP. Primary her?
I don’t like her either, but she is a lot better than a dem. There is no way that she didn’t poll this decision.
She knows the republicans have the votes, and if it helps her reelection chances to vote no, then she should vote no.
Whether we like it or not, we need her to win to keep the Senate. Trump should sit this one out.
I don’t understand it. Collins did well on Kavanaugh. Quick confirmation of ACB would benefit America greatly, & go a long way toward restoring law and order. Benefiting America would also benefit Collins.
Maybe she’s tired of being in politics? Because it certainly looks like she’s committing political suicide.
Collins is caught between a rock and a hard place between placating the Dem majority in Maine for votes or losing Republican backing for voting against Barrett. Looks like she is opting to dump Republicans. Will she pull an Arlen Specter and become a Dem. New England congressional Republicans have a habit of doing that to keep their paychecks
I figured the only reason Myth would say he was going to vote for ACB was if enough of the others said no.
He gets to fake being a good guy but remain in good standing with the other derps.
I was expecting the usual from Collins.
I don’t know much about Maine politics. I don’t know if there are any real republicans there at all. It may be that she appeals to democrats who are slightly more conservative than hardcore leftists. For all I know, not voting for Barrett and being dissed by the president may enhance her chances of re-election.
It just boggles the mind that Collins would be so stupid as to think that it’s to her political advantage to vote against Amy Barrett. Didn’t Collins vote for Kavanaugh? With all due respect to Kav, Amy has proven to be a much better nominee than him. It just blows me away at how spectacularly great that this woman is. Brilliant, polite, kind, unwavering, unflappable. She’s the real deal, and anyone opposing her looks like the bad guy. This nomination has been one of Trump’s finest achievements, and the timing of it couldn’t have been better.
oddly, I suspect this helps her in the election. not oddly at all, I suspect DJT knows that.
Just read what Collins thought about Amy...wishy washy, hesitant...I’ll have to find it. You will be stunned.
Now, what the hell can some of these pols do in a state dominated by essentially equally powerful factions? Collins is what she is because Maine is what it is. Sara Gideon (D), if elected, would probably vote to pack the court when Schumer etc. got through with her.
I live in Maine.
Contacted Susan Collins office, and told them my vote for the Senator will be the same as her vote for the (incredibly) impressive and (highly) qualified Judge Barrett.
Don’t worry, after the election Susan Collins will be gone!
Show biz. With Delecto saying he will vote yes there is no question about Barrett being confirmed. The fight with Trump is just what Collins needs to push her Democrat challenger over the cliff. The challenger, who is the Speaker of the Maine Assembly ignored the fact that one of her caucus - a 30 year old man - had a sexual affair with a female student at the private high school he worked at and had to resign. The Democrat sat on the story for two years and when it came out she insisted she didn’t know about it. That was how Collins got back in the race jumping from 10 points down to one down. So you see in politics what you see is not always what the reality is.
