Does the VP of the US merit a salute from military personnel?
The answer is YES! If you want to keep your head on you do what you are told! Salute all officers appointed over you! Forget NOT thart the Vice President swears in the Cabinet to include the SECDEF if needed!! NO SECDEF ever wants to really piss off the the VP as he is only 30 seconds away from being #!

Many years ago, a friend and I(we were both in the military and in uniform) were walking down a street in West Berlin. Over us passed a helicopter and then a couple of motorcycles and a few black limos. Then I remembered the Veep was in town. I ask my friend “Do we salute the Vice President?” He said, “I dunno, but I guess we’d better.” So, we did and he gave us one back.
Pence Swears In First Chief of Space Operations at White House Event. Vice President Mike Pence swore in Air Force Gen. ... Jay Raymond after swearing him in as the first chief of space operations during a ceremony in Washington, Jan 14, 2020.
The Vice President swears in top military and the Sec. of Defense so if officers feel they want to salute a Vice President out of respect I see nothing wrong with returning their respect. NIKK.. I’m sure Vice President Pence has discussed the salute with top military people. After ALL he has family military members.
There’s also a story out that President Obama failed to salute a man in uniform before getting on Marine One. The pilot refused to take off until the President went out and saluted.
Durbin just set up a question that resulted in one of the best moments for Barrett. Asked about what she felt in watching the George Floyd video, Barrett said it had a huge impact on her as the mother to two black children. She said that she wept with her children over the video.— Jonathan Turley (@JonathanTurley) October 13, 2020
I was like 'this poster is completely unhinged'.
Having the questions, more like the speeches, written by staff, is why senators cannot do a back-and-forth with ACB. Dems are sticking to campaign attacks on conservative positions on abortion, healthcare, LGBTQ etc. When they do ask a question about any previous court case, ACB has all the facts at her fingertips and they just move on to the next topic.

Sen. Cornyn just asked Amy Coney Barrett to hold up her notes she brought with her.
She held up a blank piece of paper. She isn't taking notes. She's that smart. pic.twitter.com/CmoFgMmTvt— Caleb Hull (@CalebJHull) October 13, 2020

This is the best performance by a SCOTUS nominee that I can recall. All recent nominees have been extremely knowledgable. But Barrett demonstrates deep understanding of judicial issues/cases & communicates in a casual, friendly, conversational manner.— Philip Klein (@philipaklein) October 13, 2020

That was a great moment. When asked what was written on the pad of paper that she had held up, ACB read the heading United States Senate.
I think we hold the Senate. I can see us winning two new seats: Alabama and Michigan.
U.S. Senators may be the single most incapable and incompetent institutional group ever to exist in the United States (even beyond being the most corrupt institution in the nations history.
Almost literally, none of them has done a single days work since they were elected. Few of them have done a single days work even before they were elected.
wait, what ? I thought that meant you could live on land or sea...not Fredo smart anymore... now FR smart.
Exactly.
I had coffee with pumpkin spice creamer this morning.
Real pumpkin pie would have been much better.
