Jenny me too I have been listening to this climate BS for DECADES, first it was going to be an ice age, THEN it was going to be global warming, THEN neither of these happened so NOW it is just climate change!! The younger people are falling for this CRAP because they have no idea that they have been SCREAMING about this for 50 years and we just don’t believe their BS anymore!!

The supposed impending ice age predicted for the mid-seventies is the reason that the global warming “scientists” used that time frame as the base line for their statistics. The unusually cold weather made a good starting point for graphs and charts to show “warming” for a number of years after that. Such phonies then changed it to “climate change” when the earth’ s temperatures stopped increasing.

Since I’ve actually looked into moving to another country if the Democrats win either 2020 or 2024 (retiring in 2025), here’s some of the things I’ve discovered.
Moving to another country to work or permanent residence isn’t the same as visiting another country. Depending on the country, you may have to undergo a physical, an FBI background check, provide proof you can support yourself for a certain length of time, have either a ticket out of the country or the means to purchase one once employment ends.
Then there’s usually some sort of investment in the country required if you plan to live there permanently. Certain amount of funds in the bank, purchase real estate, etc.
Right now, NZ is rejecting visas from outside the country until further notice due to COVID.
People think that we’re a horrible, racist country because we require immigrants to jump through all sorts of hoops to come into this country. They don’t realize that other countries require as much if not more than we do. Like back in 2016, people were just going to up and move to Canada. It’s not that easy.
Did you tell your niece that for 50 years they have been saying the same damn thing!! You need to go back to the 70’s and find the magazine covers of Life, Time, Us world report, and show her how they said then we would be in an Ice age, then skip up to the 90’s same magazine covers saying we were going to be in HUGE heat waves and droughts none of which happened!! WE don’t believe this BS anymore because for 50 years it has been the same damn nonsense!!! You will have to show her or she will continue to believe that this is some NEW thing they are spewing!!!

I was working in Switzerland. Initially, after every 8 days, I have to get a new stamp on the passport for work Authorization. After 3 months Canton approved it for 6 months. My company had to submit so many paperwork. For a year I stayed in hotels near Zurich Airport. If I move to another Canton, I have to go through the whole Circus again.
Well, when I returned back to the USA, IRS Audit is every other year because of Bank accounts in the Swiss and UK bank.
I was able to get the UK to work permits easily and no problem entering and working in the UK. But my other colleagues were not so lucky. They were deported from the airport.
I cannot wait and hopefully be home in time to see it live!

As a US citizen, you still have to pay US taxes even when living abroad. And depending on the country, you may owe income tax THERE. Many countries to have a treaty with the US that if you pay US taxes, you don’t owe/can offset your expat country’s taxes. And then there’s the paperwork...
Yes, I did tell her about the warnings back in the 70’s about the coming Ice Age - but did not show her the magazine covers.
