Michigan Officials Warn Of Another “Scary” Virus That People Should Worry About
While Michiganders focus on the COVID-19 issue as well as attempting to get their state’s economy back on track, Michigan public health officials are now warning of another potential breakout of a new virus, Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE).
EEE is spread by mosquitoes and MI officials claim they are doing everything they can to stop the spread as COVID fatigue sets in with citizens across the country.
One of the methods officials have devised is strikingly similar to what they are suggesting for COVID – i.e. urging residents to stay indoors after dark and protect themselves against mosquitoes when they are out. All this comes after a resident in Barry County was suspected of contracting EEE.
The incubation period of EEE is usually around 4 to ten days, and symptoms can be mild including fever, chills, aches, and general discomfort. Severe cases can involve swelling of the brain and meningitis.
While everyone should agree that caution must be exercised when dealing with communicable diseases, canceling town events, social gatherings, and staying indoors seems a bit ridiculous. Especially when the disease is one suspected case of a virus that kills a maximum of ten people on a yearly average across the country.
But that is where we are.
It is possible that MDHHS is truly concerned about the spread of the virus. However, it is once again, at best, engaging in extraordinary levels of hysteria and restrictions to deal with what is essentially an ordinary virus. Keep in mind, Michigan has no confirmed human cases of EEE in the state as of yet and only one suspected case.
I just found out today that my 31 year old niece (who wants the green new deal in a bad way) has put in an application for a job in New Zealand. Reason: She thinks President Trump is going to win the election and she can’t stand to think of what that will mean for this country and for her 3 year old daughter (whom I adore!) She has totally bought into the climategate hoax stories and believes we are all doomed (especially her daughter) if the USA doesn’t sign on to the green new deal.
So now my family will be blaming President Trump (and by association, me) should she move to New Zealand and take that beloved little sweetiepie with her.
I so don’t want my niece and my great niece to move to New Zealand!!!!!
But of course, that does not change my conviction that the PRESIDENT MUST WIN re-election or our country truly is doomed.

OTOH. If there had been a prodigal mother or aunt the son would have never grown up. Lots of place here in the U:S where she can live off the grid and still shop the malls. ( she won’t appreciate the lack of sanitary products until she’s out of the states).

First of all, you shouldn’t feel like her moving is at all your fault, directly or tangentially. It is her decision and you or Trump did not force her to leave. At 31 years old, and with a child, she is responsible for her own decisions.
At least she is doing what she feels is best. Many say they will leave the US if Trump is elected, but never follow through.
The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence. She may get there, and find the same or other problems, and come back in short time. Or, you now have a great reason to travel to NZ to visit her daughter.

Ask her what her plan is for earthquakes, as NZ has had a bunch of recent ones.
Is she going to take her child to an active earthquake zone?
And you are on islands far away from anywhere.
The cost to have things shipped there is very high and takes a long time.
And there are no guns for protection—they have been disarmed.

She may be right that things are going to get dicey here in this country should President Trump win - but it will be because of the leftist violence.
And, you are right that she may find the grass is not greener in New Zealand after all and may come back.
