Maybe the biggest reason for local appearances is for a campaign to fire up and fine tune the local efforts.
Given the lack of enthusiasm for Joe, I guess they feel he wouldn’t do any ‘firing up’ anyway ... so if the pros in the campaign can “fine tune” the local efforts then the purpose of a visit is accomplished. No idea if that is happening effectively.

I understand these people are paid to publicly say these things. But why isn't Joe /or his campaign doing more?
Do they really think he is winning? Surely their internal polls are showing the true story. Even if Biden’s internals show him winning, it cannot be by that much. Who's internal polling is off, Trump’s or Biden's?

I’ve been scanning the DUmp (Democratic Underground) this afternoon. One thread I ran into was talking about what people’s plans are if Trump wins re-election.
Most of the far left seem to think that there’s *something* President Trump can do to stop the virus. What exactly that is, I can’t tell. And they believe Dr. Fauci that it’s going to go on into 2022. And because Trump won’t do anything about the pandemic, he’s going to ruin the economy and he’s going to become a dictator.
The Senate has a rule that they have to debate for 30 hours and that time isn’t up till something like 7:24 EST.
