HOW MANY PEOPLE IN A PERCENTAGE POINT

Posted on 09/20/2020 8:08:13 PM PDT by 7thson

How many people are in a percentage point? If someone wins an election 51 percent to 49 percent, how many thousands of people does that account for?

Good grief. You can't be serious.

To ask the question to begin with and then to understand the answer, you have to have some basic knowledge of math. It doesn't appear that you do.

How do you even function as an adult without knowing the answer?

Perhaps a better question is "how many votes would the Democrats try to steal if they found themselves behind in a given state?"

A related question is "How much time would it take to steal that many votes?"

Under normal circumstances, I would recommend that conservative areas not report their vote totals early, but rather wait until almost the last minute. This allows much less time for the liberals to figure out how many votes they need to steal.

With mail-in voting, the Democrats can be standing by with truckloads of fake ballots outside each precinct. They only have to know what total they need and start ordering the adding of the fake ballots late in the day.

Making it even easier on the liberals are the recent rulings that allow ballots to be counted that arrive AFTER election day. This means the trucks full of fake ballots with timely postmarks have several days to figure out how many ballots to deliver to each precinct.

The Supreme Court needs to put a stop to any counting of ballots arriving after election day. Letting liberals know ahead of time how many votes they need to steal is a very serious problem.

Finally, 1% of any number is found by dividing that number by 100. If a million votes are cast in a state then 1% of that is 10,000 votes. If a state has 10 million votes cast, then 1% is 100,000 votes.

I recall that several years ago King County in Washington reported vote totals that exceeded their voter registration totals. Neat trick, huh!

Trump will have to win by what’s known as the “margin of fraud.” That gets bigger every election as the Dems get better at cheating and devise new ways to cheat. This time around they have kept the COVID fear white not supposedly necessitating mail-in voting (NOT absentee voting). Delayed counting of votes allows them to magically create the right number of Biden votes out of thin air.

So nobody knows how big the margin of fraud really is. Is it two points? Five points? More?

Exactly 1% of the people who were surveyed.

It isn’t just a question of winning the popular vote. It’s really the margin of victory in a swing state that could tip the balance in the Electoral College.
The trick for the Dems this year is to know where the gin up the votes for tipping a critical state.

Florida was the state that Al Gore thought might tip the 2000 election to him when very late returns in the early morning hours, after the race was called and Gore conceded, threatened to take the state away from the Bush column. This led to Gore renegging on his concession and a combing of the ballots that went on for six weeks until the Supreme Court stepped in to end the charade.

I think if Trump wins by 5 percentage points, perhaps 7,000,000 votes across the nation, I think his re-election would be secured beyond doubt. But that’s just a personal opinion.

The number of people who voted for a candidate is divided by the total number of people who voted. Then multiply that result by 100 to complete the calculation as a percentage.

Thus a result of .51 is 51%. Hopefully that is what you were really seeking.

How to Calculate Percentages

Post number 29 is the most accurate in real terms. To answer your question all you need to know is how many people can be expected to vote in a General Election.
No one can predict that number with absolute accuracy. Do you go by the last election? Do you go by the average of the last 10 elections?
Neither assumption will be totally accurate but, as an estimation, they are likely to be fairly close.

Exactly. They only have to commit organized fraud in one county in key battle ground states to win. Look for fraud in these counties... Miami dade, palm beach, Philadelphia, Cuyahoga, etc. This is a proven method for them. We have to overwhelm their fraud votes.

Then if you divide the number of people who voted for a candidate by the percentage, say 51% (by leaving off the percent symbol) you get how many people represents each percentage point. That must have been what you were really looking for.

Example: 60 people voted for candidate A, and 97 people voted. 60 divided by 97 gives a result of .6185567010309278. Since we only want 2 positions to the right of the decimal point we round up because the 3rd position is an 8. So .62 multiplied by 100 equals 62%. to find how many people make up a percent, you divide 60 by 62 you get the result .967741935483871 which rounds to .97 and that is what each percent represents in this example. In other words, each vote represents just shy of 1 whole person.

Rounding is done as follows: If the 3rd position to the right of the decimal point is less than 5 you round down, if the 3rd position is 5 or greater then you round up.

So .383 = .38 (round down) .385 = .39 (round up).

Is that clear as mud now? 8>)

The electoral college throws a monkey wrench into it.

2016: about 56k (MI and PA)
2012: about 750k
2008: about 1.8M
2004: about 38k (NM, IA, NV)
2000: 537 votes (FL)

The question was a legitimate question. Just because a bunch of you (notice the highly technical, mathematical quantative term) find the question not “smart” does not mean you should ridicule the person. Some answers on this site are starting to resemble an elitist and, dare I say, liberal, know-it-all snobbish group.
I am now ready for my thrashing at the hands of my “betters”.
Could we all just be nice to people? It helps make the world a nice place.
